Today, I will be talking about a hair styling product from BBlunt that I have using for over a year now. Every day, I thought of reviewing it, but somehow it did not happen. Finally, I have jotted down my thoughts about this raved product. When I first bought this, I was excited because, it claimed to add that “ultra-gloss” effect to your hair. And, ladies love lustrous locks right?? To know how it fared for me, keep reading the review.

My Experience with BBlunt Mini Spotlight Hair Polish for Instant Shine:
BBlunt Mini Spotlight Hair Polish comes in two different quantities- 30 ml for the mini and travel-friendly purposes and the larger ones come in 150 ml bottle which is not so convenient to use while travelling. The quantity of the large sized bottle is more economical to purchase once you have known that the product suits you well.
Let’s begin with how the product comes packed. This hair polish comes in a packaging which looks very similar to normal body sprays and deodorants. It comes inside a dark blue coloured tin container that has a glossy finish to it. There is a transparent spray cap attached to the container and you can see the spray pump through it. The spray pump dispenses the right amount of mist needed for your hair. Depending on the length of your hair, the required quantity will vary. All the product details and other details are mentioned on the body of the tin container. As the size of this version of the hair polish is small, you can carry it around conveniently while travelling. Overall, the packaging is good and sturdy.
The mist when dispensed smells of chemicals. I do not find the smell very pleasant, rather it is quite weird. Thank god, the smell does not stay for long post using this mist. It vanishes away gradually. It could be bothersome for you if you don’t like this weird smell. There is no visible colour in the mist and it looks normal like any other normal deodorant.
It is enriched with Provitamin B5, Vitamin E and Silk proteins which add sheen and makes your hair more manageable. The good thing about BBlunt products is that they really work well if that suits your hair, but they are infused with chemical ingredients. Hence, sometimes these ingredients could be harsh to your hair and may cause hair fall.
I usually do not use hair sprays on my hair on an everyday basis and I generally avoid heating and styling tools for styling my hair. My dry hair is the obvious reason for this. Only when I am going for some party or have some event, I use this hair spray. I love my hair and I know chemical products do harm your hair in the long run. So, stay natural and flaunt those lustrous locks without damaging them. I comb my hair before using this spray. Anyway, for my medium length hair, I use about 5-6 sprays to cover my entire hair properly. I gently massage my hair and comb again for the product to get absorbed well. The product takes some time to get absorbed and shows the results.
Now, let me tell you how this product performed for me. Firstly, do not expect a salon-like luminous feel on your hair. It will not give you that ultra glossy finish that you usually see on actresses onscreen. But, yes it does add some shine to your hair. The gloss sheen is not very prominently visible though. The texture of this spray is lightweight and it will not feel heavy on hair. It also helps to tame frizziness to a great extent.
My hair becomes more manageable and easy to run the comb through. It did not weight my hair down. I feared if this spray would make my hair limp, but nothing of that sort happened. Do not use it in excess; you might end up having oily strands. This spray made my hair look smoother and improved the texture. You can use this spray before using styling tools. It does protect your hair from the heat of styling equipments.
If you are going out and want protection from environmental damage, I don’t think it provides any considerable protection from outside pollutants. This is just a simple hair polish meant for shine purposes. In a nutshell, the instant shine thing was not up to my expectation level. I expected the sheen to be better. I did not experience any hair loss after using it, so it suited my hair well.
Overall, this product is decent and quite affordable. The performance is okay type and nothing ground breaking. It will add shine, but does not do any miracle. I think I am not going to buy it again. It is definitely not my first pick as a shine mist. If you are looking for luminous shine, better get a salon treatment, but if you are okay with normal shine, buy it. The effect may vary from person to person. Another thing to be kept in mind is that do not use on a regular basis. Use it only occasionally since it is infused with hell lot of chemicals. Pick the mini bottle first and find out whether it is worth your hard-earned money or not.
