Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Tender Chestnut

After having read so many reviews on IMBB about the Powder Matte range of Chambor, I remembered that even I own one. Since the colour is not to my liking, it has been lying almost unused from the last 6 months or so. Actually, there was a time (not anymore though) when I was into browns and knowing my fetish for that, my friend had gifted this to me (my friend is a complete alien to make up and that’s why mistook this colour to be brown). Anyway, I shall be reviewing the same today.
Let’s get started:
Product Being Reviewed:

Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in Tender Chestnut No.162
Product Description:
“An innovative formulated lipstick which has both Moisturizer + Matte Effect in it. Powder Matte Lipsticks have a Non-Drying Triple Action Formula which:
1. Hydrates – Vitamin A and Jojoba Oil.
2. Protects from the sun – UVA & UVB Filters (SPF – 15).
3. Has anti-ageing formula which softens & smoothens the lips – Vitamin E.
Price/Packaging/Quantity:
INR 450 for 4.5 gms of the product. There is nothing fancy about its packaging. It comes as a boring matte blue lipstick case with the Chambor tattoo on one end and the lipstickk name on the other. They could have improved the packaging considering the lipsticks are every worth the penny spent. Also, since it doesn’t have a transparent top, its difficult to remember the shade by the name.
My Take on Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Tender Chestnut:
Well, the colour is proper chestnut and not brown. It kind of washes out my friend who has a dusky complexion. Coming to the texture, it is thick, soft and creamy. Though it says matte finish, it does not start feel drying on my lips. It applies as a soft lipstick which settles to a creamy matte finish within 2 minutes. The staying power is around 4 hours with meals included which I feel is quite decent. It fades away evenly but if a thick coat or two coats are applied, it fades away in patches. There is a weird incense stick kind of a smell (Neha has been mentioning the same for these lipsticks and this one is no exception). However, the good part is that the fragrance does not stay for a long time, it dissipates within 10 minutes of the application. It is highly pigmented, one swipe, and it gives you full coverage. I have noticed that it tends to settle in fine lines if I apply two coats (may be that’s because of its thick creamy texture).
Summing the pros and cons:
Pros of Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Tender Chestnut:
- Dermatologically tested lipsticks (we hardly come across dermatologically-tested lipsticks!)
- Good staying power.
- Feels feather light on the lips.
- Very creamy and soft, still gives a matte effect.
- Highly pigmented lipsticks, which give opaque coverage even with a single swipe.
- Has SPF 15 for sun protection.

Cons of Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Tender Chestnut:
- Weird smell, though it does fade away quickly.
- This particular shade shall not be flattering on all.
- With two coats, it settles into fine lines and accentuates them.
- Packaging could be worked upon.
Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Tender Chestnut?
I shall be buying the Coral Reef reviewed by Neha and shall check out other shades. I don’t think I will buy this particular shade again. These lipsticks are highly recommended to all matte lovers.

Chambor powder matte range is amazing, u can try a few shades at the counter first, they atre super pigmented, one swipe gives u full coverage and that does not settle into fine lines, only if u apply more coats then this problem occurs.
