Conair Instant Heat Dual Voltage 2 Ceramic Straightener Review
Hey gorgeous ladies!
So, who doesn’t like having shiny, straight hair? I know I do! Anyhow, I have always had straight hair, really straight. My friends would always be jealous of how my hair stayed in place without doing a single thing, but then as my hair grew out a bit, it became *slightly* wavy. Actually, it looks more like naturally straight now, but I wanted it to be like it was during my school days 😀 So today, I will review the product that’s helping me achieve that!

Packaging:
I am kind of sorry, but I threw out the packaging a while back when cleaning out my room, I cannot believe myself, but I remember that it was a normal clamshell packaging which had a tag which made it easy to open. Anyway, the packaging was nice and functional and it came with a warranty for 2 years.
My Take on Conair Instant Heat Dual Voltage 2 Ceramic Straightener:
So, the reason I bought this one was that I needed a dual voltage straightener, since America works on 110V and India works on 220V and I needed a straightener that wouldn’t fry when I used it in India or anywhere else. This straightener is great for that purpose, because it adjusts to any voltage itself and therefore is the best choice for travel. This is one of the biggest reasons to buy it.
Anyway, as for the straightener itself, it is a very good one. It comes with 25 heat settings for all kinds of hair. The manual said – “10 to 15” for fine, straight hair; “20” for curly or wavy hair; and “25 for thick wavy/African hair.” As I said, I have fine, straight hair, that hardly requires straightening, so I set it at 15. The straightener worked just as it promised and gave me straight, shiny hair in around 10 to 15 minutes. I bought the 2-inch version since it is easy to work with it for larger sections of hair, but there’s also a ¾” version.
Also, this has a turbo power button, which you can use when you require very quick results, and honestly the turbo is way too hot for me to ever use it on my hair. Even the temp at ‘25’ was very high (400 degree F). But I guess it will be useful for people with coarse, frizzy hair.
Its heat-up time was around 30 seconds for the ‘15’ setting. The ceramic plates are really good, and I just partition my hair into 3 to 4 sections and I am done. I have noticed some straighteners having product build-up on them, but the ceramic plates don’t let that happen. When I use it on my hair, it stays that way the whole day easily. Also, my hair doesn’t get tangled when I use this one in addition to making it smooth.
My only main problem with it is the absence of a lock, which other straighteners have and also I prefer digital displays which clearly show the temperature. And also the part with ‘Conair’ written on it gets a little hot while straightening and I can’t imagine why it would be so.
Otherwise, it’s a great product, and I would highly recommend it especially at this price!
