My expectations

Not much! Coconut oil can’t possibly contain chemicals that make me dependent or are carcinogenic, I gave it a shot and it did live up to my not high expectations. I have very dry, shoulder length hair and have been experiencing some hair fall. The most I expected it to do was condition my hair.

My experience

Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil smells great. It doesn’t’t have a sticky texture and it is light. The appearance is transparent and is green tinted and did I mention it smells great? I am addicted to the smell now…

The results

After the shampoo wash and conditioning – my hair doesn’t appear very limp or dry. I didn’t notice a significant decrease in hair fall after using Dabur Vatika premium coconut hair oil for a few months or increase, for that matter. So this product does suit my hair while it doesn’t work wonders! But my hair did appear shiny. I am quite happy with the results.

Reasons you must try Dabur Vatika Premium Coconut Hair Oil

1. Nominally priced. 150ml for 45 Rs with a shelf life of 2 years.
2. Easily available. You can find it even in the local kirana store.
3. In the period I used this product for I didn’t experience any dandruff, (but can’t attribute to the effectiveness of the hair oil either! )

Reasons you may not try Dabur Vatika Premium Coconut Hair Oil

1. The list of chemicals ingredients – so coconut oil has to contain so many chemicals to preserve it for 2 years ? Huhh!! didn’t go down well with me 🙁

Will I buy it again? yes I will for the smell stays on my hair even after a wash…

  1. Nice review Gayathri  , I have been using Parachute Oil since childhood. My friend once said she used the Vatika Oil & her hair color changed to burgundy ?:)

    1. really ? and I wouldn’t know even if it did because I have been applying henna + coffee powder on my hair for long now and see “some” optical highlights! so if it’s because of the hair oil i ll never know 🙂

  2. err….I am allergic to hair oils….if i keep them for a long time, I get either headache or catch cold……good review Gayathri….I would easily give this a miss………….

    1. @jomol – thanks and i get these sinus headaches too but according to my mom, i wouldn’t if i apply hot oil and wash my hair with lukewarm water and not cold water

  3. I am scared to try this oil as it contains lemon and henna.. I guess it might change my hair color. I use Neelbringhadhi hair oil and my hair is much more thicker 🙂

  4. I have used Vatika Hair Oil and Shampoo and they both were great. even vatika henna… i had to stop it jus coz it was not available anywhere near my house 🙁

  5. I tried the Vatika hair oil with coconut and my hair started falling out right away. I can not afford to lose more hair since mine is getting thin from low estrogen. What is going on here?
