The festive season is on and in today’s post, I will tell you few tips that will help to keep your eyeliner from smudging and creasing.
Choose a quality product
Do not just go for any brand when it comes to eyeliners. Try to use tried-and-tested products and go for only those products that have high customer ratings. Don’t go for bargain eyeliners as they generally don’t provide good finish and long-lasting effects.
Use a concealer under the eyeliner
The concealer will smoothen out the lines and prevent the eyeliner from running into them. The concealer creates a barrier that stops the eyeliner from seeping into the fine lines under your eye. In the end, don’t forget to set your concealer with a translucent powder.
Prepare your skin properly
Whenever you are applying any makeup on your skin just make sure that you are applying on cleansed and moisturized skin. As we all know, our skin produces natural oils and is susceptible to picking dirt and grime. This property of our skin can make it difficult for the eyeliner to adhere properly to your skin. So cleanse, moisturize and prime your skin and then apply your makeup.
Try different formulas
There are different kinds of eyeliner formulas available like gels, liquids, pencils and crayons. If a certain formula doesn’t work on your skin then you can always experiment with different kinds to know which one suits you the best.
Set your eyeliner with eyeshadow
You can use a thin brush to apply some eyeshadow of the same color on top of your eyeliner. This will stop your liner from running, will set the eyeliner and help keep it in place.
Use pressed powder
Take a flat-headed eyeshadow brush and apply pressed powder to the edge of your lash line to soak up any excess oil. This will ensure prepping of eyes properly and will also keep your liner from smudging off during the day.
Use eyeliner sealers
Many brands offer makeup sealers that can help keep your eye makeup from smudging and creasing. These sealers can make even the most regular liners waterproof and smudge-proof.
Use layering technique
This is for those times when you need a flawless application for longer hours. All you need to do is apply your liner, smudge it a little, reapply, and smudge one more time. This will make sure that your liner stays in place all day long.
Skip applying moisturizer to your eyelids
If you have oily eyelids then you can definitely skip the moisturizer and use a primer on your eyelids. A primer will make sure that your eyeliner stays the longest without any creasing and smudging.
