My Experience with Innisfree Whitening Pore Synergy Serum:

This serum comes in a pretty sleek and matte transparent bottle with a white base and cap. The bottle is quite sturdy and a bit heavy. It reminds me of Fenty Beauty packaging. It has product details in white and orange text. It also has a pretty tangerine pattern on the side of the bottle. It has a pump for dispensing the product, which is very convenient to use. I would not say that it is travel-friendly though.

The serum has a thin consistency and appears translucent in the beginning, after which it turns white. It has a nice citrusy fragrance. It absorbs into the skin well. Overall, I was happy with the consistency. I purchased this product as I do have certain pigmentation on my skin, especially around the mouth. I wanted something that was not too potent, like a vitamin C serum, but a product with more natural ingredients rather than chemicals.

Innisfree Whitening Pore Synergy Serum packaging

I already have the Innisfree Whitening Pore Cleanser and Whitening Pore Eye Cream – two products that I adore and use almost every day as part of my layering skincare routine, day and night. This has an essence and ampoule – and both things mean almost the same.

Coming to the application of this product, for the first few times that I used it, the product was translucent. Afterwards, it turned white as the active ingredients were being properly mixed. When I tried it at the store, I thought it was a bit sticky, so I decided to purchase the product in winters. On application, with just a few pats, this serum sinks in instantly. I only use a rosewater toner before this step. It almost has a drying, watery effect, and my skin goes back to what it felt right after cleansing my face. Afterwards, application of all other products happens smoothly, making this serum an ideal candidate for a layering skincare routine. I have used it both during my morning and evening skincare routine.

This is not a whitening product as the name suggests; on the contrary, it will only lighten existing pigmentation. It will not change the skin tone of the face like a fairness cream. I used it after a trek when my skin was damaged by the sun. It helped in removing uneven tan without the need to use tan removal masks. Overall, I think this is a good product for brightening the skin and removing light pigmentation.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree Whitening Pore Synergy Serum?
I think I will repurchase this serum until a better one comes along. It is quite difficult to find a serum like this which is not sticky. I would recommend it to people who want a product that will over time have brightening effects on the face. I would not recommend it to people with heavy pigmentation as I don’t think it will be a miracle product for them.

  1. It did not show much effect on my face and I’m almost through with the bottle. However I totally agree that it is really good for layering under other skincare or makeup. I have extremely oily skin and sometimes I just apply it at night as a moisturizer and I’m good to go
