Hair type: oily scalp and dry ends, prone to splits
I have been using hair packs a lot now and am still looking out for the best! I came across this S.O.S treatment recently. It was on a ‘buy one get one free’ offer and I, being a sucker for such offers, picked it up to try. So here is the review.
Price: €1.49 for 20ml
Claims: The L’Oréal Paris Elvive Total Repair Extreme Ultra Concentrated S.O.S. – care is for 2 to 3 treatments. The hair care restores your hair texture, leaving it silky soft and gives your hair shine.
How to Use:
• Apply on washed damp hair.
• Divide the hair evenly and apply from the roots to the ends.
• The hair does not need to work, so you can wash it again right.
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair Extreme Ultra Concentrated S.O.S. Care:
I liked its concept on washing it right away. Most of the conditioners need time to work on the hair. I have oily hair and it becomes greasier with time. So, I wanted to give this product a try to see how it works. The packaging is a 20ml tube with a nozzle. It comes in a light purple tube and the nozzle makes it easier to apply the product. It has a seal similar to the Feviquick ones. It has not been mentioned if it has to be used as a cap later on. Unfortunately, I never tried and threw it away so the tube doesn’t have any cap now. I think once opened it cannot be claimed travel-friendly even if I had retained the cap. But, with the sealed tube, this can be your rescuer for those small trips you make.
The tube can be used for almost 4 times for shoulder length hair. The SOS cream is pearl white and glossy in color and has a semi-liquid consistency, and it is a bit more runny than our regular conditioners. The smell is similar to the L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Conditioner. The SOS cream can be applied to hair and roots when the hair is damp. I apply it directly using the nozzle and then gently comb out using a wide toothed comb for even application. And then I wash it off. The application and the combing takes around a minute or two for me. I could not notice any difference in my hair while washing the product off. But, after I dried my hair, my hair became smoother and shinier. The SOS cream keeps the natural texture of your hair intact, and I always appreciate this property of hair care products.
The product is made for dry and damaged hair and as claimed it is a perfect solution for the same. The SOS cream doesn’t remove any tangles and the frizz reduces only to a little extent. At the end, the SOS cream is similar to any hair conditioner. So, if you are looking for a product that could make your hair softer and smoother, you can give it a try. Else, this is not a product if you are looking for some extraordinary long-term results.
So, summing up:
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair Extreme Ultra Concentrated S.O.S. Care:
• Makes hair look healthier and shinier.
• Makes hair smoother.
• A good product for dry, dull and damaged hair.
• Doesn’t affect the natural texture of hair.
• Easy application
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair Extreme Ultra Concentrated S.O.S. Care:
• Just temporary results.
• Effects don’t last.
• Doesn’t remove frizz and tangles.
• The same results can be achieved by a daily conditioner.
