Today, I am here to review a product from the L’Oreal skin care range. This is an exfoliating gel wash, which we normally refer to as a face scrub. It is my hobby to try out different face scrubs that suit my combination dry skin, I have tried many scrubs in the past and for a while I was hooked onto Neutrogena Exfoliating Wash. It was consistent during all the changes that happened to my skin. But after all, my lust to experiment with new products in the market was far more overpowering than the good outcomes that came along with Neutrogena. So, read on further to know more about this product.
30 AED for 150 ml.
L’Oreal says Pure Zone Deep Exfoliating Wash contains Iso Bacter technology to cleanse the skin and help protect against the appearance of imperfections. It not only removes impurities from the surface of the skin (dirt, oil) but goes further thanks to its intense acting exfoliating micro beads which help unblock pores by removing dead skin cells and trapped sebum.
Exfoliating Gel Wash contains:
- Micro-beads to clean impurities from the skin surface to unclog pores.
- An optimal concentration of Salicylic acid, proven exfoliant and anti-bacterial agent, to purify pores and help protect against the appearance of blackheads.
- Apply daily to a wet face an gently massage concentrating on the T-Zone area. Avoid the delicate eye contour area.
Skin looks clearer, feels smoother, more refined and more even.

My Take on L’Oreal Pure Zone Anti-Blackheads Exfoliating Gel Wash:
First and foremost, I love the smell of this gel wash. It has a very fresh scent that awakens your senses in every way. It is a gel-based wash with tiny blue beads for exfoliating purpose. The texture of this wash is just perfect, it’s neither harsh nor too soft. It is a bit runny in nature and provides proper exfoliation necessary for our facial skin. It really worked well for my sensitive/dry skin making it smooth and never causing any irritation. The microbeads in the wash are tightly packed and it actually cleans each and every part of our face. It cleansed my pores and gave an instant freshness to my face whenever I used it and also removed my make up completely without a trace.
But on the other hand it made my skin a bit dry and stretchy after I washed my face. I had to apply a moisturizer quickly to relax my skin. In the long run I did not find any change in the blackheads composition on my nose too. The main purpose of this product was to remove blackheads troubling our T-zone area. As per their instructions I concentrated more on my T-zone area, scrubbing for a minute or so to eliminate my blackheads. But I did not find any difference. I think it is more suited for oily skin types.
The gel wash comes in a sturdy light blue and white plastic tube with a transparent flip open cap. Like most of the inverted tubes, it is easy to use in the initial stage, but towards the end, it gets difficult to squeeze out the product and most of the gel is settled in the base of the tube (I usually cut the tube and use the remaining product, can’t imagine wasting so much).
It is an okay product for me. As per their instructions, this gel wash is for daily use, but I never use scrubs on a daily basis because I feel it harms my skin. So, those who use scrubs daily can give this a try and see how it works.
Pros of L’Oreal Pure Zone Anti-Blackheads Exfoliating Gel Wash:
- Cleanses pores.
- Gives an instant smooth and fresh look.
- Removes all traces of make up.
- Squeaky clean feel.
- Travel friendly.
Cons of L’Oreal Pure Zone Anti-Blackheads Exfoliating Gel Wash:
- Tends to make skin dry and stretchy.
- Did not help in removing blackheads.
I would recommend this gel wash to oily-skinned beauties who have trouble to keep their T-Zone oil-free.
