Recently, Maybelline has launched two new lipstick ranges called “powder matte” and “creamy matte”. I am more of a matte lipstick fan, so I bought three lipsticks from the powder matte range. Today, I’m reviewing the shade “Plum Perfection”. So, read on to know more.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Plum Perfection Powder Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: Maybelline Color Sensational Get Red-Dy Powder Matte Lipstick comes in a deep maroon plum packaging with a silver base. The packaging looks a lot similar to the other lipsticks from the Color Sensational range. The lipstick comes wrapped in a plastic cover with “powder matte” written over it. But, I hate the fact that the name isn’t printed on the case as the name gets thrown away with the plastic wrapper, the moment I open it. The shade name is printed on the base, so it is a bit inconvenient to see it every time. The lipstick would have been so much better if it was color-coded, but it has the shade name at the base, so that settles it. The packaging is handy and good-looking too. The bullet works well with a twist-up mechanism, so there are no flaws with the packaging.
Shade: The shade, “Plum perfection” is a beautiful wine plum shade, which can also be called as a maroon color since it looks like a mix of these two shades. It looks bright yet deep on my lips. It will look flattering on all the skin tones and would work well for brides. Plum Perfection is one of the must-have shades in your bridal trousseau. Initially, it looks a bit light, but once I swipe it for a couple of times, it looks gorgeous on the lips.
Texture, consistency and finish: The lipstick glides very smoothly onto my lips without any effort. It provides a non-drying matte finish to the lips, which I love. The lipstick doesn’t cling onto the dry flakes on my lips and doesn’t settle into the fine lines too. I love the super matte finish of this lipstick.
Staying power: The lipstick stays for around 5-6 hours on my lips. It survives full meals with a slight fading. However, it does not fade away completely; it leaves a bright stain, which can be easily removed with a makeup remover. So, if you love matte lipsticks, pick this one up.

Yes. Although Maybelline has some similar lipsticks in their different ranges, I absolutely loved this one. It is a perfect matte lipstick for women who want a non-drying formula. It feels super light and comfortable on the lips.
