I am not a big fan of bright red shade and hence, I always prefer a little darker red that looks perfect on my skin tone. So, I picked up NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade Volcano. Now, read on to know more about this beautiful shade!

My Experience with NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick Volcano:
Packaging: NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick range comes in a black tube that has a nice velvety texture and there is a clear ring over the tube which helps in noticing the color as well. It is a nice lightweight packaging but somehow, according to its price, it feels a little cheap. Initially, the bullet doesn’t go inside properly, so you have to be careful. Otherwise, it looks nice.
Shade: The name ‘Volcano’ suggested a bold red color and yes, it is a gorgeous bold wine red. In pictures, it looks slightly light but actually, it is a warm bold red that looks stunning on lips. I love such gorgeous deep red that perfectly suits my medium tanned skin tone. It will suit all the skin tones but is best suited for medium to dark skin tones. It looks so beautiful with a glam makeup look. Now, the shade is super pigmented as well which requires only one-two swipes to get the perfect color pay off. It occupies my lips well and can hide pigmented lips perfectly. Beneficially, it doesn’t carry any shimmers.
Texture and Quality: Lipstick has a soft smooth texture that glides well and evenly occupies my lips. It feels very light and comfortable. I really like this formula and it has a beautiful non-drying finish that will suit all the skin types. It settles down into a stunning velvety matte texture that I always appreciate to wear. The formula doesn’t feel patchy or dry on the lips. In fact, it provides good hydration to them and keeps them soft for long. It has a mild smell but I don’t like it a lot. It’s obviously a personal opinion. Now, due to its non-drying formula, initially it does transfer but the color doesn’t look faded a lot as it is a super pigmented lipstick. Otherwise, it doesn’t smudge automatically or never settles into the fine lines or crease at all. It never makes my lips dry like the other matte lipsticks.
Staying Power: Surprisingly, it is a super long-lasting lipstick that I didn’t expect it to be. It stays for around 8-9 hours with a full lunch and snacks. It can survive meal and doesn’t look really faded. The minimal fading is not creating an issue with this shade as it is a deep color. It just looks so beautiful throughout the day. Also, the reapplication is quite easy with the formula it has. Also, it is easy to remove with a wipe.
Overall: I absolutely love its formula, quality and I always love such red shades on me. At this price, it is really a great deal as it lasts super long on the lips. If you want a long-wear shade which has a comfortable matte finish, then this is the one for you.
