Orange Blush vs Pink Blush by MAC Mickey Contractor
I got an opportunity to go backstage for Delhi Couture Week 2011 yesterday. Well! the even better opportunity was to get the first hand learning from the master Mickey Contractor himself. What more could I ask for. Yayy! 🙂
Considering so many of us are getting so obsessed about the orange blush, I thought I’d go ahead and learn some things about the orange blush. So here you have it! 🙂
Orange blush vs Pink Blush:
- Orange blush works great on women of colour. It is not a color to be carried of easily by everyone. Orange blush gives maximum warmth to skin. So if you can pull off sexy-chiseled-bold look, go all out with orange blush on cheek plane and a highlighter on top. It would give you that beachy , sexy contoured look. Also, the fact that orange blush makes you look a shade or two darker than your own skintone, you might want to give it a thought before picking it up. Not many Indian women prefer to go a shade darker to their skin tone anyway. So, it is a personal preference
- A pink blush gives a cuter, fresher glowing look to face. Even on days when you are looking tired, the pink blush would bring the freshness to your face giving a nice glow to your cheeks.
And here Mickey applied MAC Mocha Blush ( a mauve pink color) and applied Gana highlighter ( part of MAC Mickey Contractor Collection) on top of it.
I instantly saw the difference between both the looks.I hope you could too. 😀
And considering Mickey had done my blush, I didn’t want to wipe it off so I chose to move around with two colored cheeks the whole evening. Well! I didn’t mind that a bit. 😉

NARS Taj Mahal is a nice orange blush as well. I don’t have it, but a friend does, and it is super pigmented. It is also slightly shimmery. Looks great on darker skin tones. :))

Rati..i think you can carry off both the blushe pretty well but i loved the pink one more as it really gives that fresh and cute look on the other hand orange one def gives more of a bold look..personally I would go for pink one :makeup: I think the camera did capture the colors pretty well..or atleast I saw the difference :specs:

Yes…it must have been a wonderful feeling..getting your makeup done by MC …that too during such an event. The atmosphere backstage must have been so much fun. I always wonder what actually happens behind the scenes – the amount of work they have to to put in, the pace at which they must be working etc…
On an aside – inspired by IMBB I purchased my first ever eye shadow palette…But am not at all sure how to go about using it. :stars:
I loved both!! And I soo agree on the moving around the whole eve with dual colored cheeks! :tongue: But I think the pink 1 suits you better than the orange 1! Looks like u’re naturally blushing pink! :teddy:

I never cared about blush like stuffs earlier, i thought its just for film artists and models , you just changed my whole mind about blushes and other makeup products. the orange blush has managed to give you a chiselled look while the pink one looks soft and very FULLfilling 😀

oh and my personal opinion is that orange looks so much better compared to pink on women with a fair complexion. pink has a tendency to look splotchy while orange lifts the face. 🙂

Wow, Rati, lucky you….I would have done the same thing….walked around with 2 colours on either cheek!! I personally prefer the orange blush on you…pink also looks good, but pink is always available and now it seems that orange blush is the IN thing.
