Arati Sajjanshetty asks:

Hi IMBB team,

I am a silent reader of this blog since 2 years and I really love it. I am a working woman and looking for a good kajal which should be dark, smudgeproof (I have oily skin) and good staying power. I have used Colossal, but i found it to be hard and not so dark, Lakme Eyeconic one was dark, but used to disappear from my waterline after 1 hour of application. I am hesitant to try products which say “eyeliner” as I feel they are meant for upper lid. So could you please suggest me a good Kajal for my waterline with the above requirements? And I love to wear kajal on a daily basis and I don’t want to invest much on this every month. My budget is up to Rs. 400

  1. Try maybelline gel liner *haan ji* for 400 bucks…. i use it on the waterline as well and on the upper lids too *pompom* *jalwa* its has a very good lasting power *pompom* and will lasts for atleast 3 months as the quantity used for the waterline is quite less… plus you get a brush with it ,…. *happydance*

  2. I was about to say colossal, but you said its hard 🙁 Have you tried Faces kajal pencils, they are really good 🙂

  3. kryolan ikonic gel liner stay forever on the waterline and texture is like butter!!!

  4. Faces long Wear eye pencil in Solid Black for rs.349
Chambor Eye tattoo liner(dont remember the price, hiked too frequently)
colorbar’s retractable eyeliner..(I’m forgetting the name)
    Kryolan’s ikonic (rs200)
Bourjois clubbing waterproof eyeliner pencil in black party(rs 360)
    lakme absolute silk eyeliner
or.. if you can extend your budget about 50 bucks more… try the faces superlongwear kohl for 450.. hope this helps!! 😀 😀

  5. for me it will be my VOV single apply gel eyeliner…it is trulyyyyy amazing… *oye balle* *oye balle* doesnt smudge even a bit… *haan ji* *haan ji*

  6. You could opt for the Faces long wear eye pencil
or Amway Kajal (it is just fabulous and my HG kajal!)
Gel liners work well on the waterline too.

  7. Hey there! I am facing the same issue as you with the eyeconic so keeping my eyes open for some good recommendations. However I’d like to tell you that gel liners should be tried before purchase as it does not suit everyones eyes. Mine are sensitive and I experienced horrible burning.

  8. you can go for below:
Faces long Wear eye pencil in Solid Black for rs.349
    Kryolan’s ikonic (rs200)

These are best eye pencils and withn your budget too.

  9. Hey u can try Revlon eyeliner pencil it has worked for me hope u like it too.It costs some where around 285 *powder*

  10. For me too, no liner stays on my waterline for more than an hour…
Faces long Wear eye pencil in Solid Black stings badly on my water line.
Currently I am using Himalaya kajal… It is dark ,doesnt sting maybe because it is herbal… but smudges after sometime….

  11. I have tried almost all kajals as big freak for a dark kohl eyes ..My experiences
    1. Faces for 349 is darkest of all ( but sharpening is a pain and it goes as a waste almost 50%)
    2. Lakme Absoulte – just bought it and is good .
    3. Chambor pencil – I have been using this for almost an year (on & off and is real good ) infact sharpening is not a pain which usually is with most of eyepencil
    4. Maybelline gel liner is good but it smudges for perfect oily skin like mine.

I have read comments for 9 to 5 Lakme kajal – will definately try my hands there too.
