1. Skin care:

cream

Apply an eye cream under your eyes. Use a serum or moisturizer all over your skin. This step will prepare your skin for make-up application and ensures a flawless finish.

2. Corrector and concealer:

Corrector brightens the under-eye area, while getting rid of any discoloration. Apply under the lash line and on the inner corner of the eyes. Wipe your brush or use another brush to apply concealer. Concealer should be layered on top of the corrector. It helps to lighten and it’s good for blending into the skin tone. Finally, finish off with translucent powder.

3. Foundation:

A yellow foundation gets rid of any redness. Choose the foundation formula, according to the skin’s condition, the coverage you want and the finish. Remember, your foundation should look like your skin. Choose foundation, after testing in on your jawline, in proper light conditions.

4. Powder:

A skin tone correcting powder, will even out the skin and makes the foundation stay longer. For perfectly retouched skin, use a pale-yellow powder, to set the under-eye areas and a skin tone correcting powder, on the rest of your face. You can add a bronzer to your neck, cheeks and chin for a healthy glow. It will also add a natural tint to the skin.

5. Blush:

blush

Bobbi Brown recommends, using two shades of blush. A natural colour, that is the same colour as your cheeks, when you exercise or when you are flushed. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend up towards the hairline. And then add a brighter colour, that adds a pop of colour to your cheeks and blend it downwards. You can however skip the first blush if you apply a bronzer.

6. Lips:

There is no restriction on experimenting with lip colours. When it comes to nude lipsticks, you can find your perfect nude by trying it on the insides of your lips. The one that matches your lips, while enhancing them is your perfect nude. Use a lip-liner to line your lips, after a lip colour for perfect definition. Blend it in, to make the lipstick stay longer. Extend the liner to the ends of the lips but make sure you don’t go below or beyond the natural lip line.

7. Eyebrows:

Fill in the brows with an eyeshadow, that matches the natural colour of your brows. Brush the brows up and then over. Follow the natural arch of your brows. Make sure that the inside lines up with the inner corner of your eyes. To determine where your brows should end, hold a brush joining the edge of nose to the outer corner of the eye. This line when extended, gives the point where the tail of your brows should end. You can then use a brow gel to set the brows.

8. Eyeshadow:

eyeshadow

Start with a long wear eye base. The formula ranges from cream to powder and the colour should be lighter than your skin tone. Apply a light eye shadow from lash line to brow. Apply a medium shadow from the lash line up into the crease. This is used to create depth. For additional depth, add a darker shadow to the crease.

9. Eye Liner:

eyeliner

You can use any formula you want. The trick is to go close to the lashes. Always start with a thin line so you can build up gradually. After you have lined the entire eye, make sure the upper and bottom lines meet at the outer corner. Make sure the top line is visible, when the eyes are open.

10. Mascara:

Start by curling your lashes first. Brush mascara from base to tips of the lashes. Apply 2-3 coats of mascara to make it dense and thick.
