Clinique All About Eyes Eye Gel Review

by Jinal on January 24, 2011 · 54 comments

My major concern has always been my dark circles. They have been with me for years now. So I am in hunt for good eye products to soothe my eyes and reduce dark circles and puffiness.

There may be many causes to dark circles- genetic, iron deficiency, stress, lack of sleep, sinus problem etc. When think back and look at my teen pictures, I notice I had no dark circles till my H.S.C exams. And then the increased stress level during my B.Sc and M.Sc years plus iron deficiency were the main causes I can relate to.

I have used eye creams for a long time. I keep on switching to different ones whenever something seem promising. But always in vain! :( Recently I got this eye gel during my regular Clinique appointment.

CLinique Under eye cream

CLinique Under eye cream

Hydrating gel that diminishes the look of circles, shadows, puffs and lines.

What Clinique has to say about dark circles and their product?

Eye area around the skin is extra-fragile. It contends with the effects of dryness, time, weather, so fine lines show up first around the eyes. What’s needed: proper, fast-acting care to answer immediate problems and offer defense for the future. Benefits increase with regular use.

To target under-eye circles, shadows, lines and puffs use All About Eyes: Special moisturizers and optical diffusers immediately diminish the appearance of under-eye circles and fine lines. A unique combination of botanicals, proteins and anti-oxidants works to fade the look of under-eye darkness, decrease puffs and strengthen skin against environmental aggressors. Help to extend eye makeup wear. This velvety, lightweight, gel is absorbed quickly. Wait a few seconds before applying eye makeup. Long-term smoothing and firming results are cumulative, so use morning and night, over the entire eye area.

Who can use All About Eyes?

Women or men. All skin types. For comfortable wear keep out of eyes.

Swatch of the product.

It’s very lightweight formula hence gets easily absorbed. There are two forms in this particular eye products-cream based and gel based. Cream based is very rich formula while gel based is light weight formula. Those with dry and wrinkled eye skin should opt for cream based. And those like me who have oily lids can opt for gel based. It’s almost a month now that I am using this product. I found the gel getting absorbed like magic. It soothes my eye area immediately and gives this velvety soft feel. It does reduce puffiness instantly. But as for my dark circles, I have not noticed a drastic difference as yet. :(( But definitely it has reduced the extent of my dark circles. I can say that from the fact that I need less concealer now :-P

I guess I should give this product more time. :))

Lets come to the Pros and Cons of the product.

Pros of Clinique All About Eyes Eye Gel

• Allergy tested.
• 100% fragrance free. This is with all Clinique products. I firmly believe face products should be fragrance free.
• Ophthalmologist Tested. And hence safer to use for your delicate eye areas.
• Easily absorbed.
• Leaves velvety smooth skin. Optical diffusers instantly and visibly reduces appearance of dark circles.
• Fine wrinkles reduced.
• Eye make-up looks fresh over well hydrated skin.

Cons of Clinique All About Eyes Eye Gel

• Expensive.
• I wish it could be in a pump bottle like Clinique moisturizer. But for such small amount I guess pump would cause wastage no!
• I know I am asking for too much but I want my dark circles to vanish off. Guess I need to be patient. :-P
Remember that this is just topical solution. Result may vary for people with different causes for dark circles. Please find out the cause for your dark circle and then choose and appropriate treatment.
In my case I have been regularly taking iron supplements. And even cold compress in the morning helps me reduce dark circles.

Hope this review is beneficial to you. :))

Nahin I am not a huge fan of colorbar lip products. :(( If you can pull off such a bright shade it would look just fine. :) Don’t do much with your eyes with it. :)
