11 Elle 18 Lipsticks with Coordinating Eye Makeup
Hello Everybody!

Today’s post is going to be a bit different from all the others I have done so far. A few of my acquaintances, who are still novices in makeup, have this eternal question, “which kind of eye makeup would suit a particular shade of lipstick?” So, I decided to compile a post on which colors would go with what kind of lipstick. I do hope it will be of help to all of you as I am putting a lot of effort on this. Also, I am using Elle 18 lipstick shades for reference just because I have quite a lot of them, it doesn’t mean you will have to own Elle 18 lipsticks to try these eye makeup looks, I am sure all of you must be having similar colored lipstick in your collection, so these tips will apply to lipsticks of different brands as well. Another point I would like to mention is that I have brown eyes and all these looks will look best on brown-eyed girls, which means most of us Indian girls. For those who are blessed with green or blue eyes, do ask me your queries in the comments section, I will try to answer them. Let’s move on with the post!
I have sorted my lipsticks into pinks, corals, oranges, reds, mauves, browns, n*des family.

Pinks and Corals:
Pink and coral lipsticks always bring out the “girl next door” look in us. It is an universally-flattering shade and there is a pink for every complexion. You can maintain a very casual look with pinks and corals yet giving that fresh pop of color to your face. It can wash away all dullness from your face. For beginners, it is always advisable to opt for pinks and then move on to more daring colors like reds and oranges. With a pink or coral lipstick, try out your blues and purples as eye shadows. Tone the colors down by blending in a bit of matte grey on the crease. Also, keep in mind that your outfit should be in lighter colors like whites or beiges, or else you might end up looking like a clown!
Elle 18 has these shades in this family: Pomegranate Pie, Hot Pink, Coral Shine, Pinken and this is my suggestion of the eye makeup you can try with these shades.
Browns:
Brown lipstick has always been a savior to many girls. It is used very often by girls who have pigmented lips, who want to tone down any vividly colored lipstick, and also by those who want to go for dramatic eye makeup keeping their lips understated. One con of a brown lipstick is that, if you end up choosing the wrong brown, it will wash out all colors from your face and make you look very sickly, but the best eye makeup I feel that goes with brown lips is playing with green eye shadow and eyeliner. Green and brown together can work wonders for us warm toned girls. Elle 18 has the shade Mousse Melt and Cocoa Creme in this family. I do not own the second one, so you can see only Mousse Melt for now. Here in this look, I have used green eye crayon all over my eyelid and blended the crease with a matte brown eye shadow. A bit of kohl and mascara and I am done!
Reds and Oranges:
Finally, the most daring of the lot! Reds and oranges can transform any plain girl into a diva within seconds. But sadly, not all of us are very comfortable in wearing these shades. Meanwhile, there are even others who are so confident that they sport bright red lips and heavily made up eyes at the same time, making them look horrendously made up! Many suggest avoiding any kind of eye makeup when you are wearing a red or orange lipstick, but sadly, when I tried that tip out, my eyes looked dead. So, this is how I wear my eye makeup with a red or orange lipstick. I fill my eyebrows properly, take a brown pencil and draw a thick line on my upper lash line and gently smudge it with my ring finger. I use the same pencil to line my lower lash line. Avoiding any touch of kohl, I just apply a single coat of mascara and thus, I get the subtle definition my eyes need without going over the top. Elle 18 has Roasty Red, Rosy Blush, Rusty in this family.
Mauves:
Although, Elle 18 has a huge number of mauve lipsticks, I own only the one which suits my complexion, and that is Berry Crush. Mauves can be worn both during day and night. Personally, I prefer a pinkish toned eye shadow coupled with a soft black eye shadow line on my upper lash line when I am wearing Berry Crush. For a bit of contrast, I do add green on my lower lash line as well.
Nudes:
The lipsticks which fall in this category are Spice Ginger and Cinnamon Bun. The possibilities of eye make up with a sheer lipstick are endless! You can experiment with a different look every time. For a laid back look, couple it with the makeup shown with red lipsticks. You can even try it with golden eye shadows. Check out my tutorial on “festive eye makeup look with gold and green.” For a more defined and daring look, swipe a natural colored eye shadow all over your eye lid and then draw a thick winged line with liquid black eyeliner. With understated lips, your eyes will do all the talking!
I apologize to the maroon lovers for not including any maroon lipstick image here. I am not much of maroon person myself, so I still don’t have any maroon in my kitty. But you can check out Elle 18’s Maroon Iris lipstick review here on IMBB itself.
All the above mentioned looks are of my choice only and you have full right to disagree and suggest something else. Also, there are many other kinds that can be tried out with these lipsticks. Do suggest what comes to your mind! I hope you all enjoyed reading this and won’t be confused next time. I request the experienced writers to include some other points which I have missed. Thanks everyone for reading! 😀
