5 of the strangest things spawned by the year 2010
So the year is drawing to a close and it is that time of the year when we sit down and evaluate the ups and downs of the past year. This post is in homage to year that was 2010.
So … officially the weirdest thing to come out of 2010 is …..
Bieber Fever !!!! Hahahaha I am just kidding so all you Bieber lovers can call off the death threats …
5. Blue Lipstick: This was part of Illamasqua’s Art of Darkness Collection for Fall Winter 2010 … Ummm …. I think Blue lipstick is way higher on the WTF scale than Black lippies… this trend was even sported by Kesha often enough through out the year so we know this was no Fluke … as for me … *speecheless
4. Bejeweled Lips ….
Well I for one think her lips look diseased but maybe that just me … as an idea I think this is pretty interesting .. in reality I am thinking – logistical nightmare !!! This is Katy Perry on December’s limited edition cover for Harper’s Bazaar …. The actual cover is pretty cute and the res t of the pics are just stunning so I have no clue what the point of the bedazzled lips is … Katy’s lips are covered in 150 ruby colored Swarovski stones … just in case you were wondering…
3. The Louis Vuitton Trash Bag: Louis Vuitton is a brand associated with money, style, class and quality …. So what on earth are they doing with hand bags designed to look like the thing you carry your trash in ?! These bags were part of the LV Spring collection, designed by Marc Jacobs this errrm creation is known as the “Raindrop Besace” … such a pretty name for such a non-pretty bag. These bags are made of leather even though they look like they are made of plastic and while I thought these were hideous at first sight, I think it would be grand to own one of them although at 2000 USD… I highly doubt that will come to pass .

Not a riddle ladies… these are the iconic Alexander McQueen Armadillo shoes … featured in Lady Gaga’s music video for Bad Romance. Now Alexander Mcqueen actually passed away this year and I can imagine what that did to the value of these babies. Now why anyone would want to torture their feet with these is abso-utter-lutely beyond my comprehension. There are only 21 pairs of these shoes in existence and they cost anything between 4000 and 1000 GBP.
1. And the winner is of course Lady Gaga with her meat dress from the VMA’s this year and the meat bikini that started it all from the Vogue Hommes Japan ….
The dress is by Franc Fernandez and Lady Gaga claims that she wore the dress because, “It is a devastation to me that I know my fans who are gay … feel like they have governmental oppression on them. That’s actually why I wore the meat tonight…. If we don’t stand up for what we believe in, we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re gonna have as much rights as the meat on our bones.’
The Vogue cover on the other hand was designed to say “ I am not a piece of meat.”
Well Lady Gaga apart from the sheer offensiveness of that dress … if you don’t want to be looked at like a piece of meat – stop dressing in it !!!!
And yes both dresses were actually made of 100% pure meat, the VMA outfit also had shoes, a hat and a clutch made of meat !!!
I highly doubt it can get any stranger. I guess will just have to see what 2011 brings 😀
