By Priyanka Dixit

Hello, lovely readers!
Today I am back with this interesting article about seven foods that can cause lethargy and drowsiness. Food is an important part of our day; some people stick to the right food habits that keep them energetic throughout the day while some people start to feel sleepy even before afternoon. Such foods can create a lot of embarrassment and can keep you from giving your best at your workplace, college etc. So, make sure you read this list and stay away from these evil foods to stay fresh and energetic.
7 Foods that are Making You Sleepy

1. Warm milk

Our Indian moms are too caring when it comes to food. Our moms often give us heavy breakfast so that we do not feel hungry when we are out and about. But, even your mom makes a mistake that she gives you warm milk. Yes, milk is a rich source of proteins and calcium but this warm milk can make you feel drowsy. So, opt for cold milk in the morning to improve your concentration. If you are really a fan of warm milk, opt for it in the night as it will help you sleep better.

2. Potatoes

french fries
Our generation is addicted to potatoes: french fries, baked potatoes, parathas – these foods are yummy but did you know potatoes is the reason behind your constant drowsiness and sleepiness? Potatoes contain starch, carbohydrates, and tryptophan that can induce sleep. So keep your potato intake restricted to your holidays when you do not require much energy.

3. Bananas

Bananas are rich in potassium, which is good for your nervous system, heart, and bones. But, this fruit also contains a great amount of magnesium which, though is an excellent source of minerals, but induces sleep.

4. Salmon

If you are a fish lover, then salmon can be the source of trouble for you. Salmon is highly rich in proteins and Omega 3 fatty acids. Thus, having salmon in the lunch and in the morning can make you tired. On the other hand, having salmon for dinner can drastically improve your sleep pattern.

5. Pasta

Who doesn’t like pasta! I know no one is there on the list. Eating this source of carbs can cause and increase the levels of blood sugar and insulin in your blood. This can be responsible for fatigue and weakness. The same goes for other white foods such as cakes, white bread, and rice. Again, if you must consume these foods, consume them on your holidays.

6. Oatmeal

Oatmeal has become everyone’s best friend these days as it is even beneficial for weight loss. But, very surprisingly, this too can make you sleepy and tired. To cope with this, do not stop consuming oatmeal.Instead, add lots of fruits (or vegetables) to your oatmeal to make it more nourishing.

7. Honey

No doubt, honey is a superfood for everyone. Honey contains glucose which tells our brain to shut off. Honey, in some amount is great for health. But, make sure you stop taking it in excess to stay fit and active.
