The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Moisturising Essence Review
Today, I am reviewing a product from The Body Shop. It is the “Moisture White Shiso Moisturising Essence.” It is a toner from the Body Shop range of Moisture White.
Contains organic Aloe Vera which is renowned for its incredible soothing, hydrating and moisturising properties – perfect for sensitive skin. It is grown without the use of pesticides and is of the highest quality; natural, pure and preservative free. Hand harvested, hand washed and hand filleted (all within 12 hours of harvesting) to ensure that its natural qualities are maintained all the way through production. Provides vital income for farmers in a country where half the population earns less than $1 a day (the UN’s official poverty level), and helps with the provision of teaching materials for schools in the district. A pleasant, non-sticky water lotion that absorbs easily into the skin, and leaving it soft, moisturised and supple. Suitable for oily to normal skin types.
Shiso extract – reduces early melanin-making signals even before the hyperpigmentation process and melanin production cycle starts – helping prevent uneven skin tone, brown spots and freckles. Vitamin C – provides anti-oxidant protection helping to reduce the production of melanin. Organic Aloe – renowned for its incredible soothing, hydrating and moisturising properties.
How To Apply:
After cleansing, dampen a piece of cotton wool with Moisture White™ Shiso Moisturising Essence and wipe gently in an upwards and outwards direction. Use with other products from the Moisture White™ Shiso skin care range.
1495 INR for 150 ml.
My Experience with The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Moisturising Essence:
I have used The Body Shop Tea Tree line for a year now. Last, when my toner was over, I went to The Body Shop store to get one, but it was out of stock, so the SA convinced me to try this new line (at that time it was). I gave it a shot and bought it. I specifically told the SA that I have sensitive and acne-prone skin. When I came back and found out it was for oily to normal skin type, I was disappointed.
I had spent so much, so had to finish it anyhow. When I applied it all over my face after cleansing, it felt very oily and left a greasy residue. Some people say that it is non-sticky and say after some time, it feels okay. However, I had no luck with this product. It did not help with my pores. There is a tingling feeling after I apply the toner. Nothing happened that I prefer after using this product. I also developed some acne after using this.
I would say if you have very dry skin, then this is for you and if you like the feel of oil on your skin. Maybe it is not for me. It is mentioned on the site that it is non sticky, I totally disagree because on my face, it feels very sticky and uncomfortable.
Pros of The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Moisturising Essence:
- Very moisturizing, other than that, nothing else.
Cons of The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Moisturising Essence:
- Leaves a greasy residue.
- It does not do the job of a toner.
- Very pricey.
- Texture is like oil.
Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Moisturising Essence?
No, I would stick to the Body Shop Tea Tree line.
Overall, this product is a little confusing as I use it as a toner, but it is not like a typical toner. It is moisturizing and sticky. I do not like the feel of this product, so would not recommend. If you have extremely dry skin, then it might work, but for oily skin, I do not think it would work at all.

so pricey and does not even do the job of a toner well 😮
Neha I have used the BB cream from the same range and it is totally worthless…makes me look like a ghost with the white film it casts after application.
Yes even the BB cream is hopeless and this too is a dud! I think this range is a total failure!
