Hope all of you are enjoying mango shakes and yogurt treat everywhere.  I love summers for droolworthy fruit smoothies, lemonades and lassi treats, ummmm! Strawberry and mango are my favorite choices in summers.  Well, today’s review is also related to strawberry.  Its a mild scented hand sanitizer from The Body Shop.  Please read on further to know about TBS Strawberry Hand Cleanse Gel.

This transparent gel-based hand sanitizer comes in a flip top see-through bottle. It’s absolutely a travel-friendly, small, cute packaging with heavenly strawberry fragrance. Though dispenser packaging would have been better.

My Experience with The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cleanse Gel:

Well, many of you may raise hands if asked about using hand sanitizers a zillion times, especially IT people and mums. There were times when I used to fear getting too close with babies here, as their caring parents would ask me to use that alcohol-containing sanitizer 😛 I appreciate their initiative to ask for sanitizer before holding Aadya, that’s really inspiring!  I am a messy person, I hardly cared about these things.  Once in a while its okay, but how come every time you run after sanitizer.  There are people in my friend circle who will wash their hands or say sanitize their hands before entering kitchen and after leaving kitchen or attending their babies, before and after using ATM machines, telephones, and thankfully and shamefully, I am not one of them! I felt a little ashamed and started taking this sanitizing thing seriously, at least hand sanitizing is much better than washing hands again and again.  I have used many sanitizers, but all were so irritating on my fingers and with that peculiar hospital kind of smell. Finally, TBS hand gels came to my rescue.

There are 3 scented variants: mango, strawberry and satsuma. All are mildly scented and soft on hands even if you use them a million times a day, I swear.  Currently, I am using strawberry hand gel which is awesome.  You just need to apply it on hands, leave it on for a few minutes and feel softer and clean hands with heavenly fruity smell of strawberry.  Earlier, I used to run away from sanitizers, but now, I use it frequently just to feel the fresh fruit aroma around myself.

Just make sure you don’t have bruises on your hands, as it hurts badly for a few minutes when you apply this gel on cuts or wounds. The best thing is its devoid of harmful triclosan, so I feel its totally safe to be used on hands before attending the baby. This hand gel is my best pal after hand creams, I need it in my kitchen, living room, baby nursery and even while travelling to keep myself refreshed with its aroma and make sure my baby is handled with care.  Even when I offer this sanitizer to visitors at my home, they just love it and can’t resist themselves from using it again and again.  My hubby just loves strawberries, so he always carries this gel with him (please note: he is the biggest sanitizing freak in my home), be it office or picnic. I just wish dispenser packaging would have been much easier and hygienic unlike its flip top cap.  It only comes in a 2 Fl oz travel size right now, so it’s a little irritating to run for sanitizer every week. I usually purchase 3-4 bottles at one go and collect their gel together in one bigger dispenser bottle for easy and safe handling. I think I would keep on using TBS hand gels till I get something better.

Let’s sum up the pros and cons of this product:

Pros of The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cleanse Gel:

• An anti-bacterial hand gel that kills 99.9% germs.
• Better option of hand cleansing and sanitizing than washing.
• No triclosan, hence safe enough to be used with babies around.
• No irritating smell, all three variants are mildly scented with fruity smell of mango, satsuma and strawberry.
• Does not irritate or cause break outs on skin.
• Travel friendly portable size, easy to carry anywhere.

Cons of The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cleanse Gel:

• Available only in a portable size, might be an issue for frequent users and bigger families.
• It has a flip top opening, which is a little unhygienic.

Apart from these, I don’t feel any need of staying away from this fruity gel, believe me.  I am in love with sanitizers after using these gels and I won’t mind putting in extra effort of storing them into another dispenser! If you are bored of your regular hand sanitizer, then try this.  I am sure you will stick to it the moment you rub it on your soft hands. After all, our hands also demand little pampering while cleansing/ sanitizing right/
