Colorbar Sparkling Dust Eye Pigment – Flash Light Review

Colorbar Sparkling Dust Eye Pigment – Flash Light Review

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Hope you all are doing good. Thanks for all the love and comments on my reviews. I really appreciate it.  Well, continuing with the series, today I planned to review Colorbar Sparkling Dust Eye Pigment – Flash Light 001- my recent purchase from Colorbar. The company released a series of eye pigments by the end of last year (2013) and they come in about 5-6 shades all together – mostly light. I would have specified them all for you guys, but, turns out, I don’t have a really sharp memory 😀 I did make an effort however, to list all the colours available in this range for you all, but to my utter dismay, Colorbar still haven’t listed this series on it’s website.  So yeah, if you are keen to know – you probably have to pay a visit to the Colorbar counter. Anyway, so on my recent visit to Colorbar, I ended up picking Flash Light 001. I like subtle shimmer and since Flash Light is natural/beige/sand dust in color (whatever, you would like to call it :D)- This became my ultimate pick.

My Experience with Colorbar Sparkling Dust Eye Pigment – Flash Light:

Hmmmm….when I first bought the product, I was pretty impressed with the colour and everything. I mostly go for gold/beige based shimmers, as they can be used to highlight your natural makeup look and, also, add that “little something” to your makeup during wedding season! Admit it, we are Indians, we love weddings and our BLING! <3 Flash Light is pigmented with gold/beige shimmer which is not over the top. The shimmer is subtle. It doesn’t appear gaudy at all. For these two reasons, when I purchased this eye pigment, I was absolutely sure that this can be a part of my everyday makeup routine. There is nothing more I adore than quick self fix makeup! 😀 (Wow Factor).

It has been 3 months now, and I have used this pigment quite a few times as my eyeshadow/highlighter. It does give a beautiful look and I like its subtle shimmer. However, this fades away soon – especially when you apply it in its dry/powder form. To maintain that luster, I have to keep patting it on top of my eyelids, couple of times in a day. Also, it does not blend really nicely, maybe because it is really dry. Another thing is, you have to be cautious while using the pigment – unless you want to end up with the shimmer all over your face. 😀

A secret tip on using it 😉 – While it tends to fade away when used in its dry form, try applying it with a wet brush – this is what I usually do now :D. This way the pigment stays on longer and I don’t feel the need to keep patting it on my eyelids. Before you try this trick out, just remember it is a pigment, so dab the tip of your wet brush lightly in the pot. I don’t think anyone wants to overdose their brushes with pigments. Uh Oh – No, No!

Would I Recommend Colorbar Sparkling Dust Eye Pigment – Flash Light?

Price wise, maybe yeah you can go for it. It is not really expensive as compared to other pigments available in the market. If however, you are not very fond of pigments and do not know how to work up your way with them, you might find this one hard one to work with.

Would I Repurchase Colorbar Sparkling Dust Eye Pigment – Flash Light?

No.

Maybe, it’s just me who did have some serious expectations from this product.  I am not saying this is a bad product, but there are good ones out there and since this 2 gm jar comes for Rs. 550, I just wanted to give you an insight on this product. I hope I am able to help.
