Revlon Colorstay Sparkling Eyeliner- Brown Spark
Hi All!
I am a big sucker for kohls and eye pencils and so is my younger sister. Actually, she’s the fashionista in our house, and mom and I usually just follow her lead. So anyway, my interest in eye pencils really started when I saw her colorful eye pencil collection. I’ll be reviewing the Revlon Colorstay sparkling eyeliner in Brown Spark now, which I had bought about a year ago. I think it’s a very pretty shade and it gives me a break from the mundane black liner and kohl.
This product is not mentioned on the Revlon website, nor could I find the list of ingredients anywhere. It’s supposed to be a waterproof, smudge-proof and non-transferable, long-lasting eye liner.

My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Sparkling Eyeliner – Brown Spark:
I like the brown color and I don’t mind the small sparkles either. I wear it to the class and hospital every once in a while. I wouldn’t say that it’s exactly smudge proof though. If I don’t set it with a powder or compact, some color settles in between the creases underneath the lower eyelid due to the sweat and oiliness of my skin. Also, the shimmer gets scattered on my cheeks with the sweat.

I don’t like wearing it when I know it’s going to be a long and tiring day. It doesn’t give much trouble if I sit in the air-conditioned class though. So, I would say that it’s only suitable to wear if you don’t stay in a tropical place and if you spend most of your time indoors away from the heat. The eye liner isn’t very creamy in consistency either. It’s a little rough to apply. Revlon really needs to pull up its socks and improve its quality for the kind of price it charges for the products.
Pros:
• Nice color.
• Sturdy packaging.
• Last fairly long.
• Doesn’t irritate the eyes.
Cons:
• A little pricey.
• Not soft or creamy. Kind of rough to apply.
• Need to rub it on a few times for the color to show on the lash line properly.
• The sparkles start scattering down the face as the day progresses, due to sweat and oiliness of the face.
• Ingredients not mentioned anywhere.

Unlikely, I prefer Colorbar to Revlon nowadays.

I had the sparkling black wala in this but I lost it after 2 uses….loved that one a lot. But this seems very bad. 🙁 🙁

This sounds like really bad. I do like my liners to stay long all day long. Kohls you can still touch up but I mean i cant spend time in office washroom correcting my eyeliner on lash lines. One wrong swipe and they’d end up looking messy. :(( and tugging ?? :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank:
I am tending to shift towards eye shadows and gel liners a lot these . they never tug and stay fresh looking the entire day.
same here Rati….I prefer gel liners for lower lashline a lot than pencil liners. No need for touch-ups :victory2: :victory2:

i know! it was difficult to get it on the picture. this pic is wid flash, n i think it reflected most of the light. without the flash, couldn’t see anything 🙁 i applied it on the lower lash line n waterline…it’s difficult to spot..

mine is lying in some drawer of unused cosmetics…..btw…..i did try using the pencil by wetting the tip of the pencil and then lining my upper lash…..it helped to some extent….but then i moved on to other pencils :smirk:
got colorbar brown today!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: …….. wanted the brown to be a bit lighter(more browny eh! like lakme 22 dark chocolate pencil)..but after so much positive reviews i thought to gv it a try(specially if its smudge proof n can sustain 9hrs of govt hospital slime i should be happy :jalwa: :jalwa: :mirror: )
they last really long…..i have to use my remover at the end of the day…..yes…its on the darker shade….. :toothygrin:

Hi tinkerbell, thanks for the review. Now I can completely avoid revlon counters at any cosmetic stores. My husband had brought me revlon colour stay eye liner pencils and makeup from the US last year and I found them completely disappointing. The colour pay off is less, it doesn’t glide smoothly on the lash line and gets dried very fast and a complete waste of money! I think this one is also not an exception.

Oh too bad…it was a nice colour too. My daughter is shaping up to the fashionista in the house, so I know what you mean!
