How to make earrings from tags – DIY Part 2
Hey pretty ones! Do you remember my last DIY where I made earrings from price tags? Well, this is the second version of it, only this time I have used the tags which we get at the airport for attaching to our handbags after security check. I generally pull off those once aboard the plane and stuff them randomly into my bag. Later on, I invariably forget to throw them away! Today, I was clearing my bag and found quite a few of those. You all know by now that I simply hate throwing away things (God knows why!), thus this pair of earrings came into existence.
π You would need the following for making these:
1. Price tags or any soft cardboard.
2. Hand-made paper of any color (you will get these at any craft store. Opt for the softer ones).
3. Beads ( again of your choice. I chose golden just because they were lying unused in my cupboard).
4. Wire.
5. Scissors.
6. Strong glue like Fevicol.
Step 1: Cut out two equal shaped squares from the cardboard. Square is only because its an easier shape to work with.
Step 2: Cut out two equal length of wires keeping in mind that it will be made in the hook as well as used for putting the beads through
Step 3: Punch a tiny hole at the topmost part of the squares. Use a simple needle for the same. I used a ball point pen as I could not find out where I kept my needle! (Hostel life!)
Step 4:Β Put one end of the wire through the hole.
Step 5: Twist the end and pull it up into a βuβ shape (please refer picture)
Step 6: Now twist it around the longer end very carefully. Generally there are tools for doing these kinds of works but since I donβt have any, I used my hands. If you too use hands, be extra careful.
Step 7: Cut out appropriate length of craft paper.
Step 8: Using glue, paste it properly around the square tags.
Step 9: Repeat the folding to make it sturdy.
Step 10: Put in the beads through the top and twist the open end into a hook.
Your earrings are ready! π go flaunt them now,let your imagination run wild and use fun neon craft papers for that springy feel! You can also attach sequins on the centre for that extra bling.
Hope you enjoyed ladies⦠see you with the next post.
