In the recent past, I have become chocoholic and started carrying coco butter creams in my handbag wherever I go. The coco smell is so irresistible, that reminds me how much Edward Cullen of “Twilight Saga” was allured by Bella’s human scent. I did a mini shopping this weekend and I came across the Faces counter at Health and Glow. I had no intention of picking up lip stuff, but the SA wanted me to check out the shades and this “Hot Chocolate” from Faces Go Chic range caught my attention!
Get ready for rich long-lasting colour in just one swipe. Easy to apply lipstick gives uniform lip colour coverage.
Rs.199 for 4.5 grams.
My Take on Faces Canada Go Chic Lipstick – Hot Chocolate:
Well, the product comes in a black carton and the lipstick itself comes in a beautiful black case. The ingredients are listed on the carton, but not the name of the shades. This hot chocolate is a perfect brown shade, neither very dark nor with shimmer/glitter. It gives a matte finish. I always prefer matte brown or pink for everyday wear to office and this was another reason to pick this apart from the name “Hot Chocolate.”
Now, coming to the texture, it is creamy and glides smoothly on the lips. The colour pigmentation is pretty good. Just one swipe is all enough to get the chic look. It does not settle in the fine lines and does not make your lips dry. So, girls with dry lips can give it a try. Contrary to what it claims, the staying power is for around 3-4 hours, and that’s only if you don’t eat or drink. Nothing much can be expected for 199 bucks though. It has a very mild chocolaty smell.
Swatch under natural light:
The only bad thing is that it melts in hot weather and needless to say in Chennai’s climate! I took this piece to the backyard garden to click pictures and it began melting and finally it broke! Now, I have given it a house in the fridge.
Summing up the pros and cons:
Pros of Faces Canada Go Chic Lipstick – Hot Chocolate:
- Good pigmentation.
- Creamy texture and moisturising.
- Decent staying power.
- Cute packing and reasonably priced.
Cons of Faces Canada Go Chic Lipstick – Hot Chocolate:
- Melts away and breaks easily.
- Contains parabens.
Overall, this is a good lipstick though not very great. Value for money, except for its melting nature. I would try the other colours available in this Go Chic range, only after I make some room for it in my fridge.
