After using so much of cosmetics, there comes a saturation point for all of us where we feel like getting into deep skin and hair care regimen using some organic and herbal ingredients. This, indeed, is a great way to show your skin and hair some love after those torturing sessions. So here I am listing down six beauty recipes that you can try, using aloe vera. These treatments are awesome ways to pamper your skin and hair, and are perfect for the times when you wish to stay away from chemicals and heat.
For Soft and Smooth Hair
1. Nourishing Mask
All you need is aloe vera gel, a tablespoon of raw honey and 2 tablespoons of curd. Mix all the ingredients using a whisker. Apply this mask to your hair from your scalp to the roots. Massage a bit more on your scalp and then tie up your hair. Keep this mask on for half an hour. Then, wash off your hair with your regular shampoo. This is an easy mask and you can try this once a week. This will leave your hair highly nourished and smooth.
2. Leave-In Conditioner
The second way is to use aloe vera gel directly, if you are using a readymade one. If you use the natural one from the plant, it won’t be as effective. So whenever I am in hurry or I do not find time for the mask, I use aloe vera gel as a leave-in conditioner. Use this when your hair is damp, and not really wet. You can do this with a blow dryer too. Split your hair into two sections, take some aloe vera gel on your palm and go on to your ends and length. Also, rub normally on the roots. Once your hair is dry, you’ll notice the softness.
3. Smoothing Spray
For this, you need a spray bottle. Make sure you use a smaller bottle because you do not want to store this spray in larger quantity. So once you find a perfect pump bottle, fill it half with aloe vera gel and the other half with normal water. Shake it up and use this spray every time after you wash your hair to tame frizz. After using the spray, your hair will remain frizz-free the entire day.
For Glowing Skin
4. De-Tan Pack
The first way to use aloe vera gel for your face is to use it as a de-tan mask. I am using it this way once a week and trust me my face is tan-free now. Simply use one tablespoon of aloe vera gel in a bowl and then squeeze a lemon slice in it. Then, make a pack and apply it with a brush on your face. Keep this on for 15 minutes on your face, and wash off either with normal water or you can also use rose water. Do not use this pack if you are allergic to lemon or if you are experiencing some acne. You can also use rose water and curd in place of lemon juice.
5. Natural Moisturiser
You can use a ready-made aloe vera gel as a moisturizer for the whole day and this also works as a natural primer for your makeup. By doing so, you would have a herbal protection layer on your face before applying cosmetics and it will protect from sun too. Using aloe vera gel as a moisturizer tones up your skin to a great extent.
6. Refreshing Facial Mist
The third way is to store aloevera gel mixed with rosewater and cucumber juice in equal proportions in a spray bottle. You can store this in the refrigerator for a week, or 1 and a ½ week. Spritz this on your face throughout the day as this would work like a natural skin toner as well as a facial mist to revive dull and tired skin.
These are 6 natural DIY ways to use aloe vera gel – the herbal, affordable and effortless home treatment for smooth hair and glowing skin. 🙂
