Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Review
Hi everyone,

I am reviewing the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer today. I have tried an insane lot of primers hoping that it will keep my oily skin somewhat matte and make my makeup stay longer, but the primers just did not do anything for me as I had expected. They would just sit on the skin and my makeup would not blend as well. So, I withheld their use till now. Since Hourglass came out with the Veil Mineral Primer, I have been hearing so much about it that I had to give it a try and see if this one works any different on my oily skin.
Product Description:

A mineral-based, water-resistant primer with SPF 15 that neutralizes the skin, minimizes shine, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application. This clean, satin-finish formula helps keep makeup looking fresh and prevents fading. Veil Mineral Primer also absorbs excess oils and minimizes the appearance of pores by evenly distributing light to help hide and soften skin imperfections and fine lines. It is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Phthalates. Veil Mineral Primer is formulated with naturally derived titanium dioxide and zinc oxide instead of chemical sun-blocking agents. This water-resistant primer is also 100 percent free of fragrance, oil, and gluten.
Price:
It is available in 3 sizes. 0.33 oz for $18, 1oz for $52, 2oz for $72
Packaging:
The primer comes in a sleek frosted glass bottle with a metal pump dispenser. The packaging is sturdy and looks nice and classy. It is travel friendly.
Ingredients:
Titanium Dioxide: (2.45%) An alternative to chemical-based sunscreen agents that reflects UVA/UVB rays to protect skin from harmful damage. Zinc Oxide: (4.20%) A mineral with anti-inflammatory properties that offers full spectrum coverage by absorbing UVA and UVB rays at the skin’s surface. Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Polysilicone-11, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Hexyl Laurate, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isosterate, Stearic Acid, Alumina.
My Experience with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15:
I have invested a considerable amount of time of my life in pursuit of a good mattifying product. I have come across some complete duds and a few nice ones on the way. Hourglass Veil Mineral primer came as a nice surprise to me.
This mineral-based primer is a thin consistency serum that looks like a white pearlescent lotion. I use a tiny amount for my whole face, using my finger tips to apply it works best for me. It glides easily and gets absorbed well in to the skin unlike some other silicon based primers that just sit on the skin. While applying it feels a little thick, but within seconds, it sinks into the skin leaving a silky satin finish. It gives me a perfect smooth canvas to put my makeup on without feeling oily or sticky. It evens out my skin tone and makes my pores appear diminished. My makeup glides on smoothly and looks a lot better due to this primer.
It mattifies my face nicely but is still moisturizing enough not to accentuate any dry spots. I know it sounds weird but that is how this one works, it does absorb the oil, but is still adequately hydrating. My makeup stays looking flawless longer. I am using it with my MUFE Mat Velvet Foundation and it helps keep my face shine free a lot longer. It has not given me any break outs or clogged pores. It does have a SPF of 15 which is definitely a plus for me as I don’t like using thick sunscreens; at least I have some sun protection.
All said and done,I still feel this primer does cost a fortune. I bought the smaller size bottle to try but after being so impressed with it,I will have to go for the bigger bottle eventually. Thank God for the sales!!!
