First of all let me tell you a few things about Malayali Weddings. Kerala has 14 districts and marriage rituals differ from district to district and caste to caste. Malayali Hindu weddings are just a matter of five minutes…yes!!! you read right… HE HE… The groom is welcomed by the girls family to the hall/auditorium (mandap) and he is made to sit in front of diyas (nila vilakku) facing the guests. Then the bride (the gold mine with kilos of gold jewellery hanging on her body) is brought to the mandap. The mangalsutra or thali (Malayalam) is handed over to the groom by his father. The groom ties it to the girl. They exchange garlands and take 3 pheras. Then they take their elder’s blessings by touching their feet. THATS IT!! The rituals are over. Now the guests can move for a vegetarian feast given on plantain leaf (sadhya).
Coming to the topic, my best friend (we did our BTech together) recently got married. (Whhoopppss! a month back actually!!) She hails from a northern district in Kerala whereas I belong to the central part of Kerala and since my caste is different, I was wonder struck and carefully observing all their customs and rituals. On their wedding eve, the groom’s sister hands over a big suit case full of clothes (suits, sarees, lingerie and night dress) and toiletries. That includes all the basic needs for a girl’s day to day life. The suit case also included a makeup box which caught my attention. I thought I would share it on IMBB.
My friend has got a lovely sis-in-law who is settled in Dubai. She bought this makeup box from Dubai. It’s called The Color Workshop (TCW). I did a deep research on this brand on Google and found out that they don’t have a website of their own but their products are easily available on eBay and other online stores. I personally liked the box but can’t really comment on the quality of the products. Neither have I seen these products at any of the shopping malls in Muscat. I would like to explore more on this brand and since I’m flying back to Muscat very very soon, I’ll definitely search and try to grab their stuff.
The Makeup Box
Doesn’t that look like the one which the air hostesses carry??
Inside the Box
It contains three racks. The topmost is exclusively for eye shadows, middle one for lipsticks, nail paints, Lip gloss, Lip pencil, Eye pencil and Mascara. The last rack contains the tools, he he…ie a few brushes, sharpener and 2 blushes. Lemme show u the closer pics.
Don’t those colors look lovely? All those cute jars can be separately taken out. Easy to keep them in the hand bag for touch ups.
It contains 2 flat brushes (i-don’t-know-for-what), 4 sponge tip applicators, 1 eyebrow brush n’ eye lash comb, a sharpener and 2 Blushes. Don’t those blushes look great shades??
What do you guys think about the whole trousseau box?
Last but not the least; I got my first Colorbar courier :happy dance: :happy Dance: I bought Velvet Matte Lipstick Temptation and I-Glide Eye Pencil Prunella through online shopping. I love them to the core. I got introduced to this brand through IMBB, Thanks to Rati di. I’m surely buying more from them.
I recently got Lakme Satin Lipsticks 134 and 135 from their Fantasy Collection. 134 is an anytime wearable shade. 135 is too bright for me. I lighten it by just dabbing the colour on to the lips and layering it with a nude lip gloss.
Thanks for your time ladies.
Love n hugs,
Have you ever come across The Color Workshop (TCW) cosmetics?? If yes, Let me know your experience.
