The Body Shop Lip Liner Mauve Berry
Hello Beautiful Girls, I have been a huge fan of lip liners ever since I had known them. A good lip liner enhances the staying power of a lipstick and prevents it from bleeding while giving an even outline to the lips, therefore, it is very important for me to have color co-ordinated lip liners with my lipsticks. I have been buying lip pencils from Revlon and Maybelline and was quite happy with their performance; however, this time, I thought of trying TBS and here is what I came home with.
What Does The Body Shop Say About Their Lip Liners:
A range of coloured pencils for outlining and defining the natural line of the lips and which also helps to keep lipstick intact. They are soft enough to enable smooth and easy application, yet firm enough to reduce lipstick bleeding. Dermatologically tested.
Price and Quantity:
Rs. 395 for 1.25 g.
Shelf Life:
3 years from the date of manufacture.
There are only five shades to choose from and the colors on the website are not true indicators.

My Take on The Body Shop Lip Liner Mauve Berry:
I had initially intended of buying a brown lip liner, but then, brown and I somehow don’t gel well, so instead, I bought this lip pencil in the shade Mauve Berry. It is a matte berry colored lip liner with warm undertones in a sharpen-able regular pencil form with a steel cap. The outer color of the pencil is the shade of the liner which makes it easy to locate in a stash of make-up.
I personally like the shade and sometimes like to fill my entire lip with this color. It is a very common color and nothing great in natural light, but it looked so different in the store light and that is why I bought it in the first place. I might wear it during summers as the color is very light. I had a hard time getting the shade on to my lips since the pencil is quite hard and is not smooth. It gives a patchy application, grr, it is easily smudge-able, and is not at all long staying. It fades after a while and before you know it, it’s gone for good with leaving a light tint behind.
This was my first lip product buy from TBS and I think this going to be the last one too because I tried the lipsticks too and found them to be too sheer for my liking.

What’s Good about The Body Shop Lip Liner
- Nice shade and suits me well.
- Economical.
- Natural ingredients.
- Not tested on animals.
- Sharpen-able.
- Nice packaging, pencil itself looks good with the matte outer covering being the same color as the shade itself, easy to find in your make-up stash.
- Good quantity for that price.
What is Not-So-Good about The Body Shop Lip Liner
- Bad quality, really hard and stiff for an even application.
- Gives a patchy application on lips.
- Does not stay for long.
- A little drying too.
- A very common color I believe.
- Limited shades to choose from.
- Available only at TBS outlets.

Will I Repurchase?
In all, I don’t like this pencil and would definitely not repurchase once I finish this one.

i had always wondered how the make up products of TBS would be( though they have some great stuff in skin and hair care)… but now i think i should give them a skip :haanji: ….. hard lip pencils would definately be a no-no :nababana: :nababana: wonder how their eye products are :methinks: :methinks: :methinks:

Ya, Bhumika, this is a cool shade and thats why I got it home, the tester was pretty soft and I didn’t know what I was bringing home..

But nice color Agni and your lips look totally smashing! may be u can try wht bee has said..i worked with an avon lipliner i had previously..ws very tough to use, but was okayish when applied over balm..
over balm to I think this wouldn’t even stain but ya, I can top this with a lip balm and see if I can make it work.. :methinks:
