Hi All, today I will be reviewing two of my favourite products since the last few months. The Vaseline Hydrating Foot Cream and the Soothing Hand Cream. I got these as part of the entire Vaseline Intensive Rescue range and I am in love with them.
I could have reviewed these separately; however, there is only a slight difference in the ingredients and I thought it would be apt to club them together.
Ingredients in the Foot Cream:
Water, Petrolatum, Gycerin, Potassium Lactate, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Butylene Glycol, PEG-100 Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lactic Acid, Dimethicone, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Cetyl Alcohol, Clyceryl Stearate, Ethylene Brassylate, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben
Ingredients in the Hand Cream:
Water, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Distearlydimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Steareth-21, Dimethicone, Petrolatum, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Tapioca Starch, Stearic Acid, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Steol, Lechithin, Linoleic Acid, Stearl Stearate, Sodium Chloride, DMDM Hydantoin, Ethylene Brassylate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Titanium Dioxide.
Key ingredients used in both the creams are:
– Petrolatum which acts as an occlusive and locks moisture in.
– Glycerin which acts as a humectant helping skin repair itself.
– Dimethicone which works as an emollient ingredient and softens skin.
How it Works (This is from the company’s site):
Sebum production occurs where hair follicles are present, and helps to provide oils and lipids to the skin, reducing water loss through the skin’s surface. The only places where the skin does not have hair follicles are on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet, so without this natural oil the skin on hands and feet tends to be much drier. Hands are constantly in motion and are also exposed to environmental conditions – such as wind, cold weather, air-conditioning or heating, which pull moisture out of the skin. Frequent hand washing can also dry the skin.
As the skin on feet becomes very dry from surrounding elements, the skin begins to harden and coarsen. Rough, dry skin on feet creates an environment where further moisture loss continues, making it difficult for the skin’s natural healing processes to occur. Vaseline Intensive Rescue Hydrating Foot Cream helps to stop this process through an optimal combination of humectants, occlusives and Alpha Hydroxy A cids. The foot cream softens skin on contact while gently reducing skin’s roughness within five days.
My Take on Vaseline Intensive Rescue Soothing Hand Cream and Hydrating Foot Cream:
I absolutely love these 2 creams. I used to use Nivea Hand Cream earlier and though it was quite good, I find these better. I have been using these religiously every night for a good 5-6 months now and I can say that they have made my hands and feet softer. It doesn’t leave the skin slippery or greasy and gets absorbed very well and leaves skin moisturised for a very long time.
The foot cream has alpha hydroxy acids and these gently soften and exfoliate the rough, coarse skin on feet making it softer to touch with regular usage.
Both the creams have the same mild medicinal smell like other un-fragranced creams or lotions. If you have used any of E45’s lotions, you will know the smell I am referring to 🙂 However, I am happy with the fragrance or the lack of it.
I got them as a part of the Vaseline Hamper; however, these retail at £2.50-3.00 at most stores. Now, comes the good part, I also spotted them in the Poundstore for £1. What a steal!!!! Definitely worth stocking up from here.
Yes, I love these ones. It does what it claims. I do not see any cons (I will ignore that it has parabens). It leaves my hands and feet smooth and moisturised.
Will I Buy Again?
I will be buying it again and again and again.
