Indian Wedding Golden Blue Eye Makeup Look Tutorial

Hello Sweta,

When I saw your post on Ask IMBB I had ideas flowing in my mind but I am really bad in explaining makeup in I immediately contacted Rati to ask if I could do a tutorial and she was like super duper excited. hehehe… thanks Rati Di !! I have done looks for both wedding and engagement for you. Following is the Indian Wedding look. πŸ™‚

Wedding Look !!

For the wedding day the look I thought of is very traditionally Indian Wedding types, try wearing single colored jewelry if you decide to do the look I created, without blabbing much lets begin with the look. The dress you told was Dark Blue with Gold so the look I created is very simple and typical … as u said you are on the fairer side you can use a light yellowish gold eyeshadow.
So lets get started !!

1. Prime your lids with a good base, I used oriflame Dual Skin corrector

2. Apply compact after priming this will delay creasing if you have oily lids

3. Apply Gold eyeshadow on the inner 3/4 of your lids (SHADE 1)

4. Now using a Dark blue make an outer β€œV” using a angled or thin brush (SHADE 3)

5. Now fill in with A little lighter blue shade (SHADE 2) and blend carefully, gold and blue can make your eyeshadow appear greenish !!

6. Apply Dark Blue (SHADE 3) on your outer corner.

7. Use a Q-tip to clean fall out and to correct the outer β€œV”

8. Highlight with a very light golden Eyeshadow (SHADE 4)

9. Apply a small Winged Liner, this will enhance your beautiful eyes, Apply kohl liner on your water line.

10. Now Blend the Kohl liner with dark blue eyeshadow (SHADE 4)

Don’t worry about the gold fall-out it will act as a hightlight but make sure to blend it well !!

  1. I am loving the gold and blue combination….looks so pretty….

will try it out for sure…thanx for the pretty tutorial Deeptima :-*

  2. Deeptima!
Gor-ge-ous ! I’m going to try this for Diwali. I usually go with one color on the lid, but hey this looks so pretty I wanna give it a shot!
Btw…I read somewhere, I think on your blog, that you’re not professionally trained. I just want to say that you’re realllllllllllly good at this and you should really consider pursuing a career in makeup (if you’r not doing that already)!!

    1. Thnx Devie !! i am considering pursuing a career in makeup after hearing it from lot of people but i really dnt kn if i have a career in it or not !!! hehehe :silly: :silly:

  3. Gorgeous and well explained, Deeptima.. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

I am going to try it.

      1. Hey mee tooo !!! i used to see her videos from when i was 17, i never had those fancy products n i never even did eye makeup, but loved watching her… i love her too !! she is so talented, and her story is really moving, from a sales girl of makeup to a star !! shes just soo sweet!

  4. Deeptima u hav the most gorgeous eyes :lashes: :lashes: :lashes: :lashes: :beauty: :beauty: :beauty: !!!!!! Aur uspe ye eye makeup…kya baat kya baat kya baat     !!!!!!

  5. . Use a Q-tip to clean fall out and to correct the outer β€œV” what does this mean?

Also what does highlighting mean & which part is it done?

    1. Mary, usually while blending the eyeshadow goes out of place and on areas where we dnt want it so just clean the areas where u have unwanted eyeshadow…. use a drop of any lotion on a Q-tip and clean excess eyeshadow…

we usually Highlight under the eye-brow on the brow bone focusing under and arch of the brow and blending !!!

  6. ooooooooohhh wwwwoooowwww!!! I am speechless!!!!! I have no words coming out of me!!!! You are amazing wit this!!!!! :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized:

  7. Hey Deeptima thanks soooo much….. :-* :kissed: :inlove:
i had pretty much sorted out what looks to carry based on all the suggestions (esp Jahnvi’s) & i wanted a detailed explanation of the blue look..this is amazing       ….m certainly certainly gng 2 do this 4 d wedding…Love u soooooo much 4 this.
phewwww my looks r nw sorted, m soooo relieved :beauty:

    1. i agree, Jahnvi explained it very well…. m really bad at it !! hehehe so thouht of doing a look for you !!

M so happy u liked it !! Rati will be posting the engagement look soon… hope u like tht too…

  8. Wow that is really pretty πŸ™‚ Lovely combination of colors and I need to practice to be able to line my eyes like that πŸ™‚

  9. Me will copy :cat: :cat2: :cat: :cat2: :cat: :cat2: this now!! :jump:

  10. Wow this is beautiful! You are really talented! I always end up getting all the colours mixed when I try something like this. Do you think it’s because I don’t use a primer?? πŸ˜₯

    1. J Yo, also keep changing your brushes..I use separate brushes for different colours. It keeps the application precise and does not mix the colours. πŸ™‚

      1. Hmmm..will try that! I bought the Colorbar warm palette specially for karwa chauth but the colours got mixed up on my eyes! Will try the primer next time. Any recommendation for eye primer/eye-shadow base? I have very very oily skin. I dont want something very expensive!

Rati: Will try keeping teh brushes seperate next time! I guess the goof-up was mainly because of that!

        Thanks a lot for suggestions

        1. Rati di u are totally correct Jyo u shd use diff brushs … if u dnt have many brushes, clean them before using other color… that’s wht i do… πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

  11. Amazing look Deeptima πŸ™‚ so is this the pallete tht Rati has got or the other one? [guess its the other one] I have mailed u πŸ™‚

  12. You have beautiful eyes Deeptima. You are so professional. Loved the tutorial. Sad I was not a part of IMBB before my wedding. Else would have done my own makeup and saved a lot of money   ..

  13. Deepthima, I visit your lovely blog, I see you use some oriflame products for your tuts! I want to practice doing makeup, so could you please suggest some oriflame products that I must certainly buy! ?:-)

    1. Hey Rati!! You also have the same coastal scents palette na!! :beauty: :beauty: …Me want to see you in this look!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ :cat2: :cat: :cat2: :cat: πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

      1. Okay I’ll copy cat. I tried peach and blue last night. he he he πŸ˜› My palette has more mattes. This is a shimmer one.

  15. Very nice!!love the way u’ve winged the liner!!good job.!!I have the same palette and just yesterday I was trying that dark blue..shade 3 in your look….I really like that color..its so pigmented and comes out beautiful…!!well done…I will def try it out!

    1. I used the same blue and purple but I think I need to go with a little heavier hand at these and used a golden from the inglot palette. No golden in my Cs palette. Winged eye liner doesn’t look too good on me so kept it simple. πŸ˜›

But it’s a fabulous look, Deeptima I lovvveeddd it. :))

      And no yours is prettier. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

  16. Thakiess Deeptima. me looouuuu you. Me dancing….       :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:
