My Experience with It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector Concentrate Cream:
I am sure all of you are familiar with “concealers,” but what is a “corrector” you may ask. Is it any different than a concealer? Which one is right for me and do I need both? In the following review, I would like to shed light on this particular product so that you can decide for yourself if this is the product for you.
Concealer is basically a more pigmented thicker version of a foundation. It is designed to cover up blemishes and imperfections than you may have. While on the other hand, a corrector is a product which is designed to color correct which means that it is a specific color-based cream to counteract/neutralize pigmentation issues underneath makeup. Many companies nowadays are coming up with color correcting makeup which includes CC creams for face and correctors for under eye. You may need a specific color to neutralize a specific pigmentation that you may suffer from.
For your information, a corrector that appears orange neutralizes blue pigments in the skin; pink neutralizes green pigments, yellow neutralizes purple pigments, and green neutralizes red pigments.
I do suffer from heavy dark under circles. No, I am not malnourished or sleep deprived. My under eye problem is genetic, so no matter what I do, they do not go away. Till now, concealers were my best friend until I found this corrector. My under eye has a underlying bluish purple shade which makes them appear dark hence according to the color correction chart, I needed a corrector which was orange or yellow based.
This corrector comes in 4 shades. The shade I have is “Medium,” which looks very peachy salmon based tone.
This product comes in a tub packaging which I admit is not the most hygienic packaging since you have to dip your fingers inside the tub, but since I am the only one who uses the product, it is something that is not too bothersome to me. It has a screw top cap with a mirror finish. The mirror is a very good feature as it can be used even for doing discreet touch ups during the day. The quantity of the product provided is very good as you need just a tiny amount of product in one use. One swirl of finger is the amount of product needed per eye.
This is a very creamy and smooth product, hence it spreads effortlessly. No tugging or dragging to blend the product on the delicate under eye area. I prefer using my finger with this product as the warmth of it helps melt the product seamlessly on the skin. Just some dabs of the product with your ring finger on the under eye and its done!
The difference is noticeable instantly. Though this corrector does not completely erase my dark circles, it does wonders on minimizing the darkness and any pigmentation that I may have and hence the eye area appears so much brighter and has a “well-rested” appearance. Hence it is perfect for days when you don’t want to go too heavy with makeup yet want to look fresh. It does not feel thick or heavy on the skin at all.
It you do want a heavier coverage for your dark circles, you can use a concealer over this product. The corrector helps provide a neutralized base for your concealer to go on and the effects are more drastic as compared to using the concealer on its own.
The only issue I have with this product is that since it’s so creamy, it becomes absolutely important to use a setting powder over it. If not, then as the day wears off, the under eye starts to look greasy and shiny. Once set with a good powder, it does not crease, does not settle in fine lines around the eyes, and stays looking fresh all day.
This product also claims to have additional skin care benefits due to the presence of anti-aging peptides, niacin, green coffee extract, collagen, cucumber, aloe and avocado and hyaluronic acid. I can claim that I have noticed improvement in texture of my undereye skin after I remove my makeup at the end of the day. My under eye seems so much smoother, softer and moisturized.
This product does not contain any detectable fragrance. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to every one of you. If you do not suffer from heavy dark circles, give this product a try and you may never want a concealer again as it does all that work for you and gives much better results than a concealer and if you do suffer from heavy circles, then this product will provide a good neutralized skin base for you to use the concealer if you wish.
