Jovees Lemon Lip Balm Review

Jovees Lemon Lip Balm Review

Hello everyone,

Winters are here and so are the awesome skin care products. I hope many ladies will agree when I say lip balms are an essential among others in the list. I am going to review here today a lip balm from Jovees.  Fathima has already reviewed the ginger and honey and the strawberry ones. What made me buy this balm was the fact that it says it has lemon and somehow I felt may be it will help lighten pigmentation (although it doesn’t claim that) and even if that’s not the case, a citrus-scented balm is a good change among my fruity ones.

Packaging:

The lip balm comes in a transparent plastic tub and a green cover.  The lip balm is yellow in appearance.  The look is nothing very chic or attractive but not boring too. I wish Jovees brings out these in tube form in retractable bullets.  The tub packaging it not very hygienic.

My Take on Jovees Lemon Lip Balm:

It is not oily or too greasy.  Feel and texture wise, I found it to be quite impressive. The balm is on the sheer side and offers no colour to the lips.  As expected, the balm has a citrus smell which is not very strong, which I liked. It lingers for around 10-15 minutes (I mean I could smell it that long) and after that, it vanishes but the lips are well moisturized without being sticky or greasy.  As it is in a tub, I have kept in on my bedside table and apply it only when I retire to bed.

I have noticed it is quite good in moisturization.  In the morning, I wake up with soft and supple lips. I don’t have dry or chapped lips, but I can say it will act well for dry lips too. I tried to apply it before applying my lipstick, but it’s too slippery to be used with lipstick.  It will make lipstick bleed, but otherwise its a good balm at this price. Another thing is that it made the area around my lips better too.

Pros of Jovees Lemon Lip Balm:

  • Very decently priced, value for money.
  • Light and non greasy.
  • Moisturizes the lips well.
  • Makes lips soft and supple.
  • Stays on the lips for 2 hours without food.
  • Mildly and pleasantly scented.

Cons of Jovees Lemon Lip Balm:

  • Tub-based packaging.
  • Will not work under lipstick, will make it bleed.
  • Does not have complete ingredient list.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5.

Will I Repurchase Jovees Lemon Lip Balm?

Actually, no I won’t, reason being I don’t like this tub packaging for my lip balms (shhh….and other reason being, I have many more to finish off).

Do I Recommend Jovees Lemon Lip Balm?

Yes, for people who like lip balms and do not have an issue with tub packaging, its affordable too!.

  1. Jomol, you saying good review me doing *happy dance* *happydance*
Its nice Jomol, as i said among all the fruity ( strawberry, apple, cherry etc) lip balm this lemony balm is a welcome change.

  2. Yes supriya even I like some of the biotique product’s smell. But Blossom Kochar’s products rank no. ! when it comes to mild, herbal smell, no doubt why they call their products aroma magic.
As for this blam, Supriya its from Jovees, might be the green colour made you remember Biotique.

  3. Looks like a good one… *hifive* *hifive* even i get attracted to lemon stuff because i think they help lighten skin even if they don’t claim lol *hihi* *hihi*
