My Experience with L.A. Girl New York Latte Color Balm:
L.A. Girl Color Balm comes in a cute digital printed brown coloured case with a clear cap. It is a colour-coded tube so, one can easily identify the shade from the stash. But, the bullet doesn’t go all the way down so, I need to close the cap carefully. Personally, I am not impressed with this packaging. It feels a little cheap.
The Color Balm range has six shades and, I picked the shade “New York Latte”. It is actually a n*de brown shade that has a metallic finish. It reminds me of that 90’s metallic lip trend, and it looks very shiny on lips. It is a unique shade. I am not a fan of shimmers still, this lip balm doesn’t look chunky on the lips. But, the colour is not everyone’s cup of tea. It is a decently pigmented lip balm, and it can hide pigmentation on the lips too.
The lip balm has a nice and soft slippery smooth texture that glides effortlessly on the lips. It provides a beautiful glossy-tinted finish to the lips. The color spreads evenly and the texture feels extremely light as well. Also, the formula doesn’t feel dry or patchy at all. I have quite dry lips, and this lip balm sits comfortably on the lips. It never highlights any dry patches. “New York Latte” has a beautiful metallic and shiny texture, but the shimmer doesn’t look overpowering. Also, it has a pleasant smell, which is not bothersome.
The lip balm provides a decent hydration to my lips and keeps them moisturised. It hides dry, chapped lips and cures the dryness as well. It makes the lips soft and smooth while adding a healthy tint. But, this hydration doesn’t last long; it needs reapplication after 3 hours or after a heavy lunch. As it’s a lip balm, it does transfer a lot, and the glossy finish looks faded within 2 hours. After the colour fades way, my lips look shiny due to the shimmers present in this lip balm.
Now, coming to the staying power, it stays for around 3 hours on my lips. As it’s a lip balm, it doesn’t survive meals at all. After a meal, it looks totally faded and needs a reapplication. But, the colour never settles into fine lines or creases on my lips. Overall, “New York Latte” is a different shade to try still, it’s not a great shade. Also, the formula is not suitable for cold winter days because it has a poor staying power.

- Not a preferable shade option for all.
- Needs reapplication after 3 hours.
- Poor staying power.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase L.A. Girl New York Latte Color Balm?
No. If you don’t prefer shimmers, you can skip this product. Also, it can’t perform like Maybelline or Nivea lip balms.
