L’oreal Color Riche 456 Beige Crème
Last weekend, I happened to go to the Express Avenue Mall here and I had to go to the Health and Glow as I never ever miss going there whenever there is one in the mall that we go to. I call it the “mallgoody day” :stars: and when I do go there, I come back with some makeup product or the other.
Now, this particular H&G (and like all others here) is so clamped up with two aisles, on one side which has the makeup counters and at less than an arm’s distance, there is the other counter with all the skincare stuff. Its so parallel and narrow that two people cannot stand parallel to each other and no two people can see makeup at the same counter at the same time in peace. So, L’oreal counter is the first and foremost one and then there is the Chambor one, Maxfactor, Revlon, Maybelline, Streetwear, Lakme, and there used to be a NYX counter there, but now a friend said Faces would be coming up there 🙄 faces eh! :idk:
So, obviously, the first thing I see in a makeup counter is tada :pompom: no prizes for guessing , but this particular counter was so ill-equipped with the stock that all I could see was the new nutria shine lipsticks (read shimmer gloss frost ) and the gelee ones and then the good old L’oreal color rich. I have some 7 L’oreal color riches’ (not a good number as compared to the other brands that I have), but considering the price of 720, I have to really think twice and have to really drool over the lipstick to get it home!
Some eyeshadows and some lipsticks caught my attention there, but trust me, there are well-stocked counters of L’oreal than this one, where you would fall for something or the other. The lipstick that I am reviewing today is a color TO DIE FOR! I don’t know how I missed out this MLBB shade and now I think this is the shade of the shade of the month 😛 for me (yeah I got a lot Maybelline too last month and this month, so I am prejudiced).
Loreal Color Riche Lipstick in Beige Crème:
I saw this lipstick for the first time and it was instant love (so are such shades for me all the time). Now, L’oreal has a good sturdy packing and a shiny squarish tube with a firm click lock which I adore. The lipsticks are good, but very light sometimes and they shake in the tube when applied without a soft hand and I more often than not dent the lipstick from one side for sure (it has happened to all my 7 Color Riches’). They do have some other shimmer and deep colors, but this one is a crème and a beige and its soft in application and the color is decently pigmented. When I swipe the color on the lips, I do see a lot of moisture and creamy finish, but there is no burst of color so to say like some Maybelline ones. I think this is owing to the color, but I have seen that L’oreal Color Riche lipsticks are medium in texture and not thick, say as compared to some Maybelline, Revlon, and Colorbar lipsticks. These are fragrant lipsticks and so fragrant that if someone was to blindfold me, I can guess L’oreal out of Lakme and Colorbar. These have a sweet, rosy flowery smell to them. You may or may not like it, but I prefer non-fragrant lipsticks.
The color is gorgeous and so good that I can ignore any cons for the color. It’s a creamy, glossy, pinky, mauve and beige mix and comes out more mauvy in more than one swipe. In one swipe, it’s a MLBB color for many of our Indian skin tones. These have a glossy finish too and do transfer easily on cups, etc. This has no shimmer, no frost and that is how I like it, absolute must have! I love the color!
- Very good, if not fantastic pigmentation.
- Soft, creamy, and glossy.
- Fabulous MLBB kind of color.
- Stays for a decent three hours in three swipes.
- Great for office, daytime.
- No shimmer, no frost.
- Suitable for all complexions.
- Light to medium textured.
- I like flat top lipsticks and so this drop-shaped top of the bullet….mmm…., I don’t know what to say.
- Little shaky in the tube as it dents on one side.
- Rs. 720 is a little steep for a lipstick for a non-lipstick lover makeup girl.
- Transfers easily to cups and glasses.
- Staying power if applied lightly can be as less as an hour.
- Can come out as a brown or deep mauve in a lot swipes.
- You may want to put in some more moolah and get a MAC.
- Some may find the texture really light.
If you are looking for a daytime, office, mild, creamy, no shimmer, no frost color, with decent pigmentation, or looking out for an MLBB color, this can be it. If you don’t own a L’oreal Color Riche lipstick yet, this deserves to be your very first!
4.2 on 5 (look at the color).
