I am so happy that I picked up these salon shampoos (L’Oreal Professionnel and Kerastase) this month than cosmetic or skin care products. Right now, my skin is going through a bad acne bout and the acne ointments are giving me oily/dry/flaky skin, so I am staying away from all cosmetics this month. Yesterday, I had reviewed Kerastase Resistance Bain Volumifique Thickening Effect Shampoo here which is from the salon hair care range of L’Oreal and today, I am reviewing the Sensi Balance Shampoo from the L’Oreal Professionnnel range. Let’s check out more details about Sensi Balance Soothing Shampoo from L’Oreal.

My Experience with L’Oreal Professionnel Sensi Balance Soothing Shampoo:
After using Kerastase and L’Oreal Professionnel shampoos, I have realized that there’s a huge difference salon shampoos bring to the hair compared to regular shampoos. My favorite shampoo till now has been L’Oreal Total Repair, which cleans my scalp well, adds bounce and makes my hair shiny. I haven’t actually used a shampoo that claims to treat the scalp differently, and I am extremely glad that this shampoo acts as a scalp treatment. Most of the shampoos that are available in the market are targeted to give you soft and shiny hair or to treat dandruff (which rips off moisture from the scalp). This shampoo would be best to use as a weekly treatment after you have had a heavy week with anti-dandruff shampoos and styling products (that can irritate and dry out your scalp).
Talking about the packaging, this clear, runny shampoo comes in a 250 ml chemical blue-colored bottle. I am not a fan of the fragrance, it’s not great, not the salon kind of fragrance you would expect, but it’s not bothersome. The scent stays in the hair for one day. Since it’s a salon shampoo, the ingredients list has SLS and that means it lathers well and you would not require lots and lots of product to get rid of dirt and gunk. However, if you have oiled your hair heavily, you might have to do two thorough rinses. The ingredient list also shows wheat protein, glycerin, and salicylic acid – so thumbs up!
The shampoo cleans the scalp and hair well and does not strip off the moisture in the process. However, I am not sure if it clears up hair buildup, you would have to use a clarifying one for that I guess. This product not only cleans hair well, it soothes and moisturizes dry and irritated scalp. Each time after use, I get squeaky clean scalp which is not irritated or dry. As is the case with most anti-dandruff shampoos, they can leave your scalp extremely dry. This shampoo soothes the scalp and also makes hair soft, smooth, and shiny. It also tames frizzy hair, but does not kill the bounce; hair kind of flattens out by the second or third day. This salon shampoo from L’Oreal claims to contain sorbitwin which is a moisturizing ingredient that protects sensitive scalp. So, those of you who have sensitive scalp and scalp pimples can use this shampoo to calm the irritations.
After shampooing, it’s easy to detangle hair and like Kerastase shampoo, I skip the conditioner most of the times because it adds shine and bounce to my hair.
I have used a few L’Oreal Professionnel shampoos earlier, but I have liked this one the most because it acts as a scalp treatment and that’s why I am going to get it again. There’s one clarifying shampoo – L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Pure Resource Shampoo and I want to try that one too to get rid of hair buildup.
