MAC Lip Pencil Beet
Claims : A pencil designed for shaping, lining or filling in the lip. Lip Pencils have a smooth, creamy texture that is perfect for lining the lips or filling them in. They are long-lasting and available in a wide selection of colours that each work well with many different lipstick shades.
Price : Rs 820
MAC lip pencils in different colors have been reviewed on IMBB before as well (SOAR, Chestnut, Redd, Spice ). Beet is just another addition to the lovely lip pencils that MAC offers.
MAC describes Beet as vivid reddish pink. Beet is a matte berry color . I bought it almost 2 months back and I have already worn it on a couple of occasions. Sometimes with a gloss, sometimes underneath a red lipstick. If you have a bright orange lipstick and you find it difficult to pull off, try wearing beet underneath it and it would tone down the brightness of orange making it easy to wear.
It is not red and it is not a bright pink.. somewhere in between that a lot of women would be able to pull off. It is not an on the go color or something that I’d personally wear it on a day to day basis but underneath a red lipstick, I prefer Beet over Redd. It is more cool toned than Redd ( an orange based lip pencil) and works perfectly for my NC 35 skin tone .
The lip pencil is creamy but not super creamy. It glides on lips easily. It stays on around 7 + hours on my lips and fades to a light berryish color. It compltely matte. Neither moisturizing, nor drying – just how a perfect lip pencil should be. I suggest wearing a lip balm underneath any lip-pencil so that your lips don’t get super dry.
I find it great for wearing it underneath my red lipsticks and prefer this more than Redd lip pencil. But honestly, formula wise both the pencils are the same and you can choose whichever suits your complexion more. Dusky skin beauties, do check it out. 🙂
