Hi Ladies, in my first article on this lovely blog I’m going to review Calvin Klein Subliminal Purity Loose Powder, which has been triumphing in my vanity bag for a few weeks now. This product is available in four shades: Ivory, Buff, Flesh and Translucent. Due to the fact that I’d been buying online, I had some problems with finding the ideal color, but Ivory turned out to be the perfect choice for my light skin (I’m European).

Product Information:

Application:

1. Apply after foundation and concealer.
2. Using a large powder brush, dust the powder over your face in gentle, rounded motions or use the enclosed puff and with a rolling motion, press it into the skin.
3. Tip: After applying lipstick, place a tissue over the lips and dust the powder over it to keep your lipstick in place longer.

Complete list of ingredients:

My thoughts on Calvin Klein Subliminal Purity Loose Powder

I apply this powder with the enclosed puff and it creates really beautiful natural look. The application is quick and easy, but be careful that you don’t use too much – it happened to me once when I was in a hurry and I looked like I’d dipped my face in flour! Basically the powder is efficient and you don’t need a lot to achieve a nice effect, so 20g will last long.

This product gives good coverage without creating dry-looking patches. My skin feels silky smooth and it’s glowing, but in a healthy not tasteless glittery way. Moreover, it’s fragrance free, which is a huge advantage, because I hate this “powdery” artificial scent.

What I don’t like is that it doesn’t mattify for the whole day at the office. By early afternoon my nose begins to shine, so I need to dust the powder over my face again. It’s fine if I have a big bag with me, but it’s not a product you can just put into your clutch when you go out for the night – the container is simply and elegant, but quite big and heavy at the same time.

Despite the drawbacks, I adore this powder and the complements I hear about my skin.  Calvin Klein powder is a great solution for women who want good coverage without heavy make up.

Pros and Cons of Calvin Klein Subliminal Purity Loose Powder

+ Leaves you a beautiful satin complexion indeed
+ Great coverage; if you don’t have big problems with your skin, you can skip the foundation and just use the powder
+ Really efficient; you don’t need to use much to achieve a satisfying effect, so 20g is a lot
– Doesn’t mattify for long
– The container is not very practical

My rating:
4 out of 5 – I do recommend, especially to women who appreciate natural healthy look.
