While travelling, especially in trains, I love to keep myself stocked with face wipes, but once in a while, the face really needs to be scrubbed clean, especially if it’s an overnight journey. I do carry face washes but I am extremely clumsy and keep dropping them and if you have traveled with the Indian Railways, you would know better than to pick up something from the train floor. I therefore, liked the concept of dry sponges that would lather when wet. I have tried the Audrey’s one and this is second one that I tried. Read on to know how it fared.

My Experience with Nexcare Face Cleaning Pads For Normal to Oily Skin:
I have used similar cleansing pads by Audrey’s, it was okay, but the concept of cleansing sponges took me by storm. I started looking for similar things. I saw the Neutrogena wave one, but decided to skip it because it came with a power cleanser and then one day I saw this and couldn’t resist getting it because it was so cheap.
The pad is a small square, thin sponge, white in color. It has to be moistened and then squeezed to activate the lather. The harder you squeeze the pad, the more will the pad lather and it is to be used to clean already moistened face. It lathers pretty well, I will have to give it that. However, it’s too harsh. It’s like rubbing the dish wash sponge against your skin. However, the product claims that it is dermatologically tested for gentleness. Maybe so, but I still am not a fan of whatever fiber has been used to make the pads.
Having said that, it does clean away the dust, grime and oil leaving the skin squeaky clean. It also claims to clean away makeup and its remnants. I cannot really comment on it because I did not try cleaning makeup using these pads. The skin does not feel dry at all. It feels smooth and soft, even scrubbed clean, which is to be expected, given how abrasive the fiber of the cleaning pad is.
It says in the pack that it could be used every day. I, au contraire, think, this product should never be used. I will never buy this again and would suggest everyone to stay away from it.
Pros of Nexcare Face Cleaning Pads For Normal to Oily Skin:
- Cleans away dust, grime and oil making the skin squeaky clean.
- Scrubs the skin making it super smooth.
- Skin feels soft and smooth.
- Great for travels, especially long journeys on trains.
Cons of Nexcare Face Cleaning Pads For Normal to Oily Skin:
- Too abrasive.
- Has SLS, but to be fair, in such cleansing sponges, SLS has to be present to make it lather.
2/5, (had it been a little less harsh and abrasive, I would have given it more points).
