For the first time since I have been on IMBB, I am happy that nobody can see me now. I am dancing in a way that is not for anybody’s eye but me; I am happy!!! I just (October 19, 4.00 pm) got the Coastal Scents brushes I had ordered on 11/10/2010. So I got these in just over a week. (My dad was telling me it would NEVER come!!)
This was my first buy from Coastal scents (Thanks Ki for the recco.. love you!!). I was longing for some decent brushes, especially for eye makeup, for a long time now. But also I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them. So I was definitely against buying MAC or Inglot brushes. Then Ki gave some amazing reccos and I ordered the following brushes.
Shipping Method: USPS First-Class Mail International -The cheapest one.. ;)!!!
The package arrived in wrapped bubble wraps and bright fuchsia packing paper. All the brushes were in fine condition and nothing was broken/torn/damaged.
The brushes came individually packed.
I’ll be reviewing these brushes after I have used them for a while.
Here’s a sneak peek.
1. Chisel Fluff/Pointed Crease Duet- $3.95
It is dual brush with fluffy blending brush at one end and pointed crease brush at the other.
2. Sable Contour Brush- $1.79
It is a round contour brush. It’s semi-firm and useful for crease work and detailing.
3. Chisel Detail Mini Brush- $0.99 (Got it on sale. Yay!)
This is a cute little brush for small detailing like highlighting the inner eye corner etc.
4. Chisel Angle Fluff Shadow Brush- $2.00
It’s an angled fluffy shadow brush. The bristles are soft and angled to fit the contours of eye.
5. Divine Taklon Liner- $1.95
It’s a synthetic Taklon angled liner brush. The bristles are very soft and perfectly semi-firm.
6. Destiny Duo Fiber Stippling Brush- $7.95
I have never used any type of brush for foundation before. So I am very excited about this. Amazingly soft and light.
7. Angle Blush Brush- $4.50
I still love my Vega blush brush, but this one is a fat little brush with a small handle, Very dense, very soft.
8. Black & Hot Pink Angled Kabuki- $9.95
Meet my new love!!! I can marry this brush. I love it like anything. Saying that this is soft would be an insult to its velvety, almost fluid bristles. It’s painfully pleasurable. Hmmmmmmm…..
9. Zipper Makeup Case Leatherine 10 Slot- $4.95
I got a nice leatherine case to hold these beauties. It has 10 slots but holds at least 20 brushes. It has 3 large slots and 7 small ones. Here it is-
My first impression of all the brushes is very good. They all are clean, soft and seem dead useful. I also got an eye shadow sample free with my purchase. It is a loose powder mineral eye shadow called lace sparkle. Here’s the shadow and the swatch. It’s a very pale pink with a loooooot of silver shimmer.
I am looking forward to using all these.
I would review these for you, but my verdict is almost positive.
Hope you like my haul.

Thanks Appu.. Thank for noticing the efforts.. I did plan a lot.. I debated a lot over the ready made sets.. But most of them contained unwanted brushes like mascara spoolie and all..
I am enjoying my new job..
Hey! I too have a brush set from coastal scents…got it almost an year back..its doing a decent job and can be a less expensive alternative to MAC…(though MAC will be MAC)….I own a little eye brush set from MAC limited edition as well..so you see.. but these brushes are ok..not very dense though.!! still i would say so far so good!! 🙂
I like these brushes for the fact that they provide quality widout breaking my bank..
MAC will be MAC.. But I can surely do very well wid these..
And me too have a SE brush from MAc, but these too are very dense,, Esp the Kabuki and Stippling brush are superfine!!!
lovely ……..have fun using them
Thanks… I will, Monika.. :-*
Wow Mrun grt haul. I have been thinking of buying thr 88 eye shadow palette
The shadow sample they sent me is impressive.. And i have heard good things only bout the 88 e/s palette…
Get it soon.. 😉
These are so pretty .   And that pink and black one is to die for. I think it’s very important to have lots of brushes , you somehow never realize the importance until you have them. 🙂
Keep an eye on your duo fibre brush after washing. My Sigma duo fibre bleeds (will show you today 🙂 )
If this one doesn’t bleed then I’ll get this one only. or else from Inglot or MAC.
Enjoy!!
Yeah they are pretty Rati…
I am carrying the Kabuki with me these days.. It’s soooo flaunt-worthy and totally spells Sexxxxyyyy!!!
I have washed my Duo fibre brush 3-4 times now.. I am using it even for my Tinted moisturiser.. 😛
If by bleeding you mean the black fibres are colouring the white ones, then this one does not do that at ALL!!!
It shed a little in the first wash, but never after.. You can get 2 of these for one MAC one!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I know that MAC one is for painful 2250… :pain: :pain: :pain: :pain:
yeah by bleeding I mean exactly what you mentioned.
he he he so you do face touchups at the center of the mall now. :X-P: :X-P: :X-P:
Not exactly… But I do it in front of some new colleagues of mine.. 😛
😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉
And you can get 5 of these for 1 MAC!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I know…. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
wow amazing haul !!
loved all the brushes & it reached within 1 week. Wow 😯
none of my packages have reached me that fast !!
Thanks Insiya.. Me too was completely awed by such a quick delivery!!
wow, that’s a massive brush haul! i want to buy their eyeshadow palette for a long time, but the shipping cost!!!! tell me mrun, how much did u hav to pay in INR?
Hey Bulbul, I paid 12 USD for shipping, that’s bout Rs. 500+. Shipping could be irksome, if you are ordering 1-2 items.. I was ordering stuff worth thrice the shipping cost, so it didn’t bother me much…
500 is pretty reasonable, and see how efficient!!!!
Hey Mrun…these brushes look really nice especially tht kabuki brush 😀 …you got a good deal!! and u recd within 10 days and that too whn u selected the cheapest shipping!! thts awesome…BTW how did the credit card company charge u..I mean since u paid in USD?
Thanks HD.. I am in love with the kabuki :inlove: :inlove: .. and it’s soooooo soft!!!
The shipping was awesome and I was most pleasantly surprised… 😀 😀
The credit card companies themselves convert the currencies and charge you in INR.. I used my Dad’s card and it still worked out fine.. 😉
HD , generally if the rate is say Rs 45 for a dollar they would charge you a rupee or two more…That’s the common difference i have noticed. 🙂
oh okie…that much rate diff is fine…I thought they might be charging some additional charges if the transaction is in foreign currency :-))
Wow! Wow! Wow! :chic: :chic: :hypnotized: All these look awesome. I’ll sound like a complete moron but I have like,5-6 brushes and I just use them for everything. I have a few of vega but I just don’t know which ones to buy :struggle: . And i’ve no idea what half of these do(kabuki?). But these look great!!
