Hope you all doing well. Being a person who is blessed with dry skin and dry lips, anything with the term ‘moisturizing’ attracts my attention immediately. I do think that using a lip balm in your skincare routine is absolutely must, no matter if it is summer or winter. Though drugstore lip balms have worked good for me, this time around I decided to splurge on a little bit of luxury for my lips. This review will be on the Sisley Paris ‘Confort Extreme Levres’ Nutritive Lip Balm.
About the product:
With its exceptional repairing benefits, Nutritive Lip Balm is a true emergency treatment for cracked, dry and chapped lips.
The lips are very fine and contain no sebaceous glands, making them highly sensitive, easily irritated, and more prone to dryness and weakening by outside aggressions (cold, wind, sun). The Nutritive Lip Balm formula is rich in soothing, emollient and protective lipids which provide lips with moisture and protection. The melting texture is naturally colored by its own ingredients and leaves the lips feeling comfortable and supple. A combination of oils (hazelnut, plum kernel, sunflower), shea butter and kokum butter helps to relieve sensations of discomfort, re-hydrate and plump the lips, repair and restore lipid levels, and form a protective film against outside aggressions.
How to Use:
Apply Nutritive Lip Balm generously throughout the day. Lips are instantly moisturized and lastingly protected; they appear softer, smoother and more plump.
My Experience with Sisley Paris Confort Extreme Levres Nutritive Lip Balm:
Comes in a plastic jar with a screw lid. I usually prefer lip balms in a tube just for the ease of application. This lip balm does come with a mini spatula so you can avoid dipping your fingers in it.
This balm has a thick, smooth, gel-like consistency. You do need just a tiny bit for your lips. It spreads effortlessly and instantly smoothes and comforts dry lips. It looks a bright yellow in the tub, but goes on clear on the lips.
Feel on lips and Results:
This lip balm has a glossy finish on the lips if you apply a thick layer. It is neither too sticky nor slippery. It feels really comfortable and hydrating. I usually apply this balm overnight and by morning it is completely absorbed into the skin. This lip balm creates moisture barrier on the lips and deeply hydrates and repairs lips. My chapped lips are immediate soothed and feel good for the rest of the day. It also helps my lipsticks go on smoothly. This lip balm has really helped keep my chapped lips at bay with regular use.
This lip balm does not have any strong scent. It is basically fragrance free, and free of added colors.
Overall, I do really like this lip balm. It does everything it claims and has helped keep my lips in tip-top condition. Granted this is a very expensive product which makes it fall in the category of luxury, not a necessity. But, if you would like to splurge, this product is worth it!
