Sleek Cosmetics never fails to amaze its customers with the quality of their products. I am always tempted to order more and more from their site. Once , while browsing through their site, I came across their “Superior Cover Powder.” As I was running out of my MAC Studio Fix and was looking for a cheaper alternative, I ordered this beauty without blinking an eyelid. So, let’s see how the product turned out to be:
A full coverage powder that compliments any foundation for a flawless finish.
Talc, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Nylon-12, Dimethicone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Jojoba Oil, Magnesium Stearate, Fragrance CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499. Suitable for vegans. Suitable for vegetarians.
$ 7.49 for 12 gm.
My Experience with Sleek Makeup Pressed Powder Superior Cover:
The compact comes in a very nice, sassy-looking, black, Sleek’s traditional packing. It has a good mirror and puff . The puff can be useful if you are one of those who doesn’t like to carry an extra burden of a powder brush in your bag, but yes, some brush freaks like me can carry brushes all the time and anywhere 😛
The coverage of this powder is not as nice as MAC Studio Fix, hmm well, I think I can never find an alternative for MAC Studio Fix Powder 🙂 I know comparing this with Studio Fix is not justified, keeping in mind the vast price difference.
This powder does provide a good amount of coverage than other random compacts available in the drugstore these days. It can easily hide tiny blemishes and give skin an even-toned appearance without making it look cakey.
The negative part about this product is the Sleek’s shade selection for this product. I ordered the lightest shade, i.e., biscuit and sadly this is at least two shades darker than my skin tone which is NC 30-NC 35 in MAC. The site has seven shades in for this product but all the shades are for medium to dark skin tones. I am among those paranoid beauties who always want a fresh appearance and like to keep a compact lighter than the shade of the foundation as many foundations start to look dull as the day passes by. This doesn’t solve that particular purpose.
I still use it to add some color and contours to my face and it works pretty well 🙂
Pros of Sleek Makeup Pressed Powder Superior Cover:
- Good coverage.
- Blends very well.
- Sets the makeup well.
- Very light fragrance which goes off in a few minutes.
- Never gets cakey.
- Good quantity of product.
- Didn’t break me out.
- Very reasonably priced.
Cons of Sleek Makeup Pressed Powder Superior Cover:
- Bad shade selection.
Overall, a nice compact which provides a decent amount of coverage . I will recommend it to beauties above NC 30 or even those lovely-spirited girls who love the sun-kissed look for the summer because with this you can easily contour a little bit on your forehead, cheeks and jawline and yeah nose, but carefully.
