I recently purchased two cleansers from The Face Shop; cleansing foam and scrub foam. Both are from their “Jeju Volcanic Lava” range. Today, I will be sharing my views on the pore cleansing foam from the face shop jeju volcanic lava range. Let’s get into the details.

How to Use:
Dispense an adequate amount and lather fully with water. Massage gently onto the face and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
My Experience with The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Cleansing Foam:
Packaging: The cleansing foam comes in an earthy-coloured inverted tube with a flip top. The flip top opens with a little pressure and closes with a click preventing any spillage; hence it is travel-friendly. When I got this cleansing foam, the tube was wrapped in plastic and sealed to prevent it from tampering. The name of the product is written in the front of the tube and all the other information is provided at the back of the tube in both Korean and English.
Texture and Fragrance: This cleansing foam is thick and creamy in consistency. There are no chances of getting the product out of the tube without squeezing it. It has shining peachy-pearly, almost nude color to it. When comes in contact with water, it lathers up pretty well. The fragrance is kind of citrusy and herbal, may be because of all the extracts and oils present in it. It is mild, subtle and pleasant. Though it is a personal preference, I definitely like the fragrance.
This is my second face wash from the face shop after rice water cleansing foam, but I have the same experience in fragrance with them. Most of the face washes from the face shop have mild and refreshing fragrance. While cleansing the face, fragrance is quite soothing.
Usage/ Result: Currently I have normal to oily skin, but in winter there are dry patches all over the cheeks and under eye area. In addition, I have acne-prone skin and never know what could possibly irritate my skin. Also, there are nominal whiteheads over the nose and just a few open pores around the nose area. On top of that, I had acne breakout a few weeks back out of nowhere. But thankfully this time I got diagnosed rightly, preventing the further breakouts and currently my skin is acne-free. I have been using this cleansing foam for nearly 2 weeks. I keep switching it with the other scrub foam from the same range.
For the amount needed to cleanse the face, I use a pea size only. Pea size amount of cleansing foam is more than enough for thorough cleansing. And, with this much amount needed, it will last you for many months. A little amount lathers up pretty well and feels luxurious. After lathering up the cleansing foam, I massage over the face and neck for a minute to let the volcanic particles do their work. Then, I rinse off with normal water. Though it is mentioned to rinse with lukewarm water, I don’t. There is only one reason why I don’t use lukewarm water; it puts me off to wait for anything and it is quite a work for me to switch on the geyser and wait for the lukewarm water to wash off my face. Even with the normal water, the cleansing foam gets rinsed off easily.
Post rinsing, the skin doesn’t feel stretchy or stripped from moisture. Cleansing foam often makes the skin feel tacky and dry, but this one does not. Instead, it feels like this cleansing foam hydrates the skin along with cleansing it. It cleanses the skin effectively and makes it look clearer and softer. Moreover, it does not make it any stretchy also.
The claim of controlling excessive oil is absolutely right. It keeps my oily nose shine-free throughout the day. I have also noticed less formation of whiteheads over the nose. It does cleanse and purifies the pores, but does nothing in shrinking or refining them. Then, again, the cleansing foam does not claim to do so. It is effective in removing the traces of light makeup, but make sure to not use this cleansing foam anywhere near the eye area. It is clearly mentioned in the information provided on the tube. This product does an amazing job in cleansing the skin. In other words, the cleaning foam makes the skin squeaky clean without making it dry.

I have purchased both the facial foams from this range and they will last me for so long that I can’t even begin to imagine. So, I may or may not repurchase it. However, if you want to try something new or the pros listed here meets your needs of a cleanser, then, surely invest in it.
