1. Washing your hair after your hair is fully wet:

This is a very important step. Mostly, what happens is that once your hair is fully drenched in rain, you return home and you get fully engrossed in drying it, and then, you have to deal with tangles in your hair and all that. So, what is the correct thing to do? The correct thing is to shampoo your hair immediately with any gentle cleansing shampoo like Dove Intense Repair Shampoo and let it air dry. This will remove all the dirt and tangles from your hair.

2. Cover, cover:

But, I don’t know if it is going to work when it’s raining cats and dogs, but for light drizzling rain, this is definitely worth a try. Carry scarves or stoles with you when you are out in monsoon and you don’t have an umbrella. This will cover your hair and protect it from the harsh monsoon rain and also keep your hairstyle in shape.

3. No hair styling:

Please remember that monsoon is not the correct time to style your hair. So, maintain a safe distance from hair styling tools. Keep it as simple and natural as possible. Also, sometimes the hair styling tools react in monsoon. So, there is a danger of short circuits and all. So, the best way is to simply comb your hair and tie it in a hair bun or rubber band as per your choice.

4. Say yes to mild shampoo:

Monsoon is the time when you need to stay light and gentle towards your hair. And, when your hair is getting drenched in rain, then the best way is to use a gentle cleansing shampoo which will reduce the product build up and also will retain the moisture in your hair. You can use a deep conditioning shampoo if you have dry hair type. But, stay away from the shampoos loaded with sulfates or parabens. Use an organic shampoo like Khadi Natural Shampoo.

5. Hair combing rules for monsoon:

In monsoon, you need to have specific hair styling rules. Don’t comb wet hair at any cost. Combing wet hair leads to more tangles and causes severe hair fall. Also, you should not share combs in monsoon. This will lead to scalp infections and other major threats in monsoon.

6. Use aloe vera gel:

Aloe vera gel is one of such cooling product which can do wonders to your hair. So, what you can do is that regularly use aloe vera gel like Khadi Aloe Vera Gel, so that your scalp is all cool and it gets cleansed regularly. Alternatively, you can also mix the aloe vera gel in your regular hair oil to derive maximum benefits out of it. You can also mix it with the shampoo so that your hair is in good shape with the help of aloe vera gel.

7. Stay away from junk food:

In monsoon, you should stay away from junk food. Junk food will heat up your body and it will show on your skin and on your hair too. If your digestion system is not proper, then your hair will ultimately suffer and hair fall will increase tremendously.

8. Tying your hair:

We all know that wet hair is not meant to be tied. You should just leave your wet hair open and with time it will air dry, and then, you can tie it as per your choice. But, in monsoon, it is advisable to not tie your hair too tight. You can secure it with a light rubber band or a clutch and then leave it just like that. If you tie your hair too tight and when it gets wet in rain, it will eventually lead to severe hair fall.

9. Drying your hair:

In monsoon, if you are aiming to maintain your hair health, a microfiber towel is very important. Not only it soaks the water and dries your hair faster, but also the friction is minimum, and thus, your hair fall is much lesser as compared to using any other towel. Also, always try to lightly rub your hair from downwards to upwards. This is the correct direction of drying your hair.

10. Get good sleep:

This is the best and an inexpensive way of treating your skin and hair. Doesn’t matter if you even take proper diet and wash with an organic shampoo, a good 8-10 hours of sleep is very important for the overall health of your hair and skin. This will immediately strengthen your hair follicles, and thus, you will be amazed to see the beautiful and lustrous hair, and gradually, you will see that you are losing very fewer hair strands.
