When I posted my Too Faced Fall 2015 Haul a while back, most of your got super excited about these adorable and cute looking heart shaped blush. Starting today, I will start reviewing these new Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush which were a part of Fall 2015 collection. This review will be on the shade “Love Hangover”.
About The Product:
A long-wear, fade- and smudge-proof formula that keeps your cheeks perfectly flushed for up to 16 hours.
What it does:
Blush all day and night with the flush of true love. Each of the six pigment-rich, high-impact shades deliver a pretty, pop of color to any skintone with bold color payoff. The long-wear formula is enriched with buttery soft pigments that bond with skin and take on a weightless, suspended look that lasts for up to 16 hours—so you don’t have to worry about reapplication throughout the day. From a soft dusty nude hue with fine gold sparkle to a watermelon pink, you can create an array of looks for daytime and nighttime wear.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
What else you need to know:
This blush is cruelty-free and formulated without gluten.
My Experience with Too Faced Love Hangover Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush:
Super cute and this is what attracted me towards the product in the first place. I mean, who could resist this beauty! This blush comes housed in a beautiful heart shaped compact with a decent sized mirror. The compact itself is very lightweight. There is no applicator provided nor is there any space to keep one of your own. The compact can be a bit difficult to open at times especially if you have big hands or super long nails. There is a beautiful design on the blush itself of bunnies and flowers.
Texture & Pigmentation:
This powder blush has a smooth, silky feel. It is not too chalky and is easy to apply. This blush is a little bit sheer (which is especially true for the lighter shades), but is easily buildable and you can build up the pigmentation in layers. I do find it is best to start off with little and build the color in layers rather than taking a whole lot all together which could result in patchy application.
The shade “Love Hangover” is described as perfect warm pink .On me, it looks like a medium pink shade and has a little bit of shimmer which translates to a subtle glow and warmth to the skin. This shade will suit a range of skin tone from light –medium.
The shimmer particles are very fine and you cannot detect them on the skin, but it does give a satiny sheen. I did find the shades in this line which do have shimmer tend to stick to dry patches or any imperfection on your skin (in my case, it may be an occasional breakout) but it is only noticeable if you look up close. The blush looks very natural on the skin and feels very lightweight.
I find it is best to apply this brush with a dense brush and buff it into the skin instead of doing a light dusting with a wispy brush. Whenever I have used this blush with a light hand and a wispy brush, it has got faded completely within 4 hours, which was very disappointing!
It’s only when I adjusted my technique of application and applied it a bit heavy handedly could I get a wear time of 6-7 hours with some fading. So, the claim of ’16 hour’ of wear is heavily exaggerated and doesn’t hold any truth to it.
Overall, this is a good product. But, they are not my favorite from the huge range of blushes I have tried so far. They rank decent in my books. I love the beautiful range of color and the super adorable packaging which makes it an excellent gift item. The staying power is a bit subpar as it does tend to fade quite easily, at least on me. I do like them enough to recommend them, but I do think that there are much better blushes out there in the market which have knocked my socks off and this blush is not on that level yet!
Pros of Too Faced Love Hangover Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush:
• Natural looking
• Very beautiful packaging
• Travel friendly and lightweight
• Beautiful, wearable shade range
• Shimmer particles are not gritty and are not detectable on the skin
• Buildable pigmentation
• Does not feel chalky
Cons of Too Faced Love Hangover Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush:
• If you have uneven texture on your skin like acne or dryness, the shimmer in these blushes tend to bunch up around those areas
• Staying power could have been better; it fades quite easily on my skin unless I apply it heavily
• 16 hour of wear time – nope!!; not true at all
