Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo Review

Hello Beauties!

My hair is wavy. It’s time for me to accept that. I have tried every straightening product that has crossed my path in the past couple of years and I haven’t really been satisfied with any of them. My latest and last disappointment in my quest for straight hair is Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo.

herbal Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo Review

Claims:
I think its better straight than never. You love straight hair and you’ll do anything to get it. Well, get your straight look with the help of my lush formula fused with honeyed pear & silk that cleans and lays hair down with a sleek shine. It’s easy. Get in line right here.

General Info:
The shampoo has a medium viscosity and it dispenses pretty easily from the bottle. Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo spreads through hair without much effort and you can work it into a nice lather.

Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight particular shampoo boasts “a fusion of honeyed pear & silk.” It smells more like a combination of pear and cheap perfume to me. I was disappointed with the fragrance of this product because I am a fan of products with a pear scent. Luckily, the fragrance rinses out along with the shampoo so I am only subjected to it while I am in the shower.

Ingredients:
Water, ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laurethsulfate, sodium chloride, cocamidemea, glycol distearate, dimethicone, ammonium xylenesulfonate, honey extract, pyruspyrifolia/pyrusbretschneideri blend (pear) juice, hydrolyzed silk, fragrance, cetyl alcohol, polyquaternium-10, dosium citrate, citric acid, propylene glycol, dosium benzoate, disodium EDTA, PEG 7M, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, red 33.

My Take on Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight:

Price: Rs.145 for 300ml.
herbal3 Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo Review

This shampoo does not give you straight hair. You can use it, the “Dangerously Straight” conditioner, and a straightening styling product and you still won’t get straight hair. Believe me. I’ve tried. What this shampoo will do for you is create some build-up that will weigh your hair down. It also leaves your hair a tangled mess when you rinse it out. I always use conditioner after shampooing but those who do not, will not be pleased with the knots produced by this product. It’s bad enough that it doesn’t help to straighten hair–creating tangles is just adding insult to injury.

Pros of Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo:

  • It is pink?

Cons of Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo:

  • Does not straighten hair.
  • Makes my hair really rough and tangled.
  • Smell.
  • It leaves behind a lot of product build up.

The new Herbal Essences line is designed to attract teenagers with lots of disposable income. If you really want “pin straight” hair, save your money and buy a straightening iron.

WOULD I REPURCHASE THIS?

NEVER! What a waste of money.

Hi Neha!

I totally agree. I used this range and was so disappointed. It made my hair curlier than usual! And the amount of product buildup ugh :-(

You know my friend got the same one coz she wanted her wavy hairs to be tamed and it did not do anything for her :|

She now uses this before straightening and it works..her hair gets straightened pretty faster because of the shampoo :pompom: :pompom:

It looks good though and pretty cheap, some shampoos from loreal paris, oriflame and avon I have heard are very helpful in getting straight hair ! My hair was very curly when I was a child, then It became wavy, now its becoming straight ! God knows what kind of hair I have !

I really like this! It has made my wavy hair very manageable… earlier I had to shampoo a day before a major event… cuz my hair used to be so frizzy and voluminous after a wash. But using this makes my hair… much sleeker and shinier ! :) Guess somethings work for some… and doesnt for some other!
