Let’s start with the packaging of the product. The Matrix Biolage 6-in-1 Smooth Proof Deep Smoothing Hair Serum comes packaged in a long orange coloured plastic bottle with a flip cap. The cap shuts tightly making an audible click sound and hence, the product is a travel-friendly one. It is a clear, lightweight serum and I apply it to my hair as per the instructions. It has a non-sticky and light texture which makes the application process easier. I use a coin-sized amount of the serum which is just sufficient for my mid-length hair. If the quantity exceeds, my hair starts looking oily and greasy. Also, the serum has a mild citrus smell which is totally non-bothersome.

The serum contains avocado, grapeseed oil and frizz-taming polymers which smoothen and strengthen your hair from the roots thereby, making your hair healthy. However, the effects are temporary and I didn’t notice any significant change in my hair texture.

When I use the serum on my damp hair, it detangles the knots really well. Also, the product does not weigh down my hair. Similarly, when I use the serum on my heat-styled hair, it makes my hair smooth and silky. Sometimes, I use it on my dry ends and it works well in treating them too. My hair feels instantly shiny, silky and frizz-free. I not only use it to detangle my hair, but I also use it as a styling product to add a quick boost of shine to my mane. Overall, I love this serum.
