My Experience with Stila Eyeshadow Trio – Gold Glow:

Packaging:

The packaging of this eyeshadow trio is very simple and sleek. It comes in a bronze tin container with a clear lid for easy visibility of the shades inside. The word “Stila” is engraved on the side. Though the packaging is cute, it’s not very convenient. The lid fits very loose and if I were to throw this in my makeup bag, the lid always seems to fall off which risks it breaking and creating a huge mess.

This product contains three beautiful shades.  One shade is a golden metallic color which is very highly pigmented, the shade in the middle is a shimmery bronze color which is also very much pigmented. The third color is white ivory which is not as pigmented as the first two shades, but is still pretty decent. My most favorite shade is the golden color because it is such a beautiful and intense color which can be worn alone and still look beautiful.  The ivory shade is way too powdery and in order to pick up the color, I have to rub twice as hard in order to get the actual shade on my fingers or brush. When I apply the last shade, it is gone in a few hours and all that’s left is some shimmer.  It is my least favorite color in the trio. Aside from that, the colors glide on very easily and easy to blend.  It has never left any harsh lines, very smooth consistency.

As far as longevity goes, it does last me all day long (except for the ivory/white shade) when I am using an eyeshadow primer underneath. Without primer, it will probably last me a good 7 to 8 hours which is still pretty decent.

In my opinion, these shades are very versatile, you can create many different looks by mixing all together or just using one shade. It has a base, crease, and highlight, all in one, which is very convenient. These colors can be applied dry on top of eyeshadow primer or used in a wet form.  I have noticed that when I use them in a wet form, it gives a very deep metallic look which is a bonus point because that adds on to various number of looks you can create.
