Yes, the Chambor bug has caught me and till my love for this brand lasts, I need to hoard. Now, after the “Powder Matte” lipsticks, (there are some more coming), I thought that these Chambor trios are seriously ignored and I took the task upon me to see what might work with these trios that cost some 495 rupees approximately and hence I got a shade which might work for many of us in some way, let’s see.
Chambor counters that I went to have very limited shades and all of them have one or more shimmer to them. I think just one of them has all three neutral shades, which I will pick up next for all you office goers who might be on the lookout for neutral eye shadows. They have some amazing green, blue, and bridal trios and I am totally digging the green one.
As for this trio “Glowing Earth,” this is a very versatile shade and I will tell you why. This trio has one taupe color, which goes on pearly and not matte. Now, the next is a very pretty rust color which has some shimmer to it. Then, the third one is packed with copper shimmer and glitter. Hence, this is versatile in the way that ladies who want to keep just one or more eyeshadow quads in their collection, will like this. For office or formal wear, they can wear the taupe shade which has no shimmer, just all pearl finish. It really brightens the eyes up as it is a little lighter than our olive skin and hence look all doe-eyed kind of a shade.
The next one in rust can be used only when you need some definition and may be after office to an evening get together. Hence you can add it in the crease or you can use it as an all-over color.
The third one is very loose shimmer kind of a shade which can be used for night wear and occasions when you really don’t want to spend on another shimmer shadow, but still want something in shimmer in your collection.
The trio is apt for Indian skin as these are all earthy colours and very natural looking and you can use the neutral, rust and shimmer as per need and you don’t need to spend on three separate ones for you collection.
The texture of these shadows is amazing, very soft and velvety, but it is so velvety that the powder gets used up a lot on me. I can literally see the flower on the shadow fading out when I swipe the applicator across it. The applicator also has one slim end to it which we might find helpful and another end has a sponge tip.
This shadow is velvety soft and quite pigmented considering the light shades it has. These show up very mild on the lid for me and I count it as a neutral palette. The shimmer is not over the top because of its soft color.
The staying power is a minimum of four hours on a base and the colors might show up deeper on a base, but all in all, they are light. I love the packaging as well the floral design on the lid which makes it so feminine. I have no complaints about this shadow apart from the fact that this is so velvety that it might fall and not hold tightly in the pan and the shimmer may also have a little fall out which is natural.
Last Word on Chambor Eye Shadow Trio – Glowing Earth:
This is a very soft, velvety and versatile trio from Chambor. For Rs. 495, I think it’s a good deal, but I think I might finish it very soon. The taupe is a very good neutral eye color.
