People these days are really conscious about their body and they follow a variety of diet plan to lose weight and get back to shape. In today’s post, I will discuss about a diet plan that not only helps you to get back in shape within 30 days but also improves your health in various manners.

What is the Diet?

This diet was created by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig who are known as sports nutritionists. They curated the diet plan in 2009 and it has become famous since then. This diet stops you from eating certain food groups that affect your body in multiple ways. They not only mess up with your weight goals and fitness but also lower your energy, increases blood sugar, causes bloating and messes up in multiple other ways. Such food groups include diary, sugar, legume etc. You are expected to give them up for thirty days and never take a cheat meal in-between.

What You Can Eat:

Yogurt, granola, seeds, fresh, dry fruits and honey in bowl

A good thing about this diet is that it does not restrict your calorie intake. As you cut out the high calorie, non-healthy options from your diet, whatever you eat automatically becomes healthy and allows you to stay within the calorie-goal. Here are some food that you can definitely eat as a part of this plan:

  • Animal Protein- Meat (preferably grilled), lots of fish (even canned ones) and poultry.
  • Vegetables- All of them.
  • Fruits- Anything you want to.
  • Fat- Avocado is a good source of fat.

What You Cannot Eat:

  • Remove any kind of alcohol and cigarettes from your daily routine.
  • No grains- From rice to quinoa, everything should leave your diet for a month.
  • No beans or legumes. Even the so called healthy options like peanut butter are not allowed.
  • No soy product.
  • No dairy.
  • No sugar at all (not even the artificial sweeteners).
  • No processed food additives. It is better to avoid processed food all together.
  • No baked cakes or junk food for snacks.
  • And you cannot have a cheat diet. If you think a small bowl of quinoa with vegetables won’t be harmful, you are wrong. This program is just for a month and you have to do that following everything strictly.
    The exceptions: Some exceptions are allowed in this diet. And they include only these items strictly: Ghee (exception in dairy), Fresh fruit juice (can be used to make food sweet), vinegar and salt (these can be used to enhance the taste of your food)

Things to Keep in Mind before You Start:

1. Clear the Stock: Do not keep any of the restricted food items in your kitchen or freezer. It will make things easier for you to follow.
2. Do Your Research First: There is no pint in starting it suddenly and then giving up the next day. Know what you will be up to for a month, plan the things that you will eat or cook. Most importantly, prepare yourself mentally.
3. Buy Everything you Need: While you will be giving up a lot of food items, there are a lot that you will have to eat. Buy them and stock them in your kitchen.
4. Do Not Eat Out: It is better not to eat out while you are on this diet. You must eat homemade food and thus you will know what you are eating.
5. Do it With a Partner: You can do this with your spouse or partner. It is easier to keep a check on each other and motivate each other through the 30 days.

Once your body goes through this transformation, it will be trained automatically to eat healthy. This plan will make your diet choices wise and will allow you to eat the right food even after the 30 days get over.
