Hello to all IMBB Beauties!
First of all, I apologize for not being able to write reviews since the past few days, was down with fever and food poisoning, but now feeling much better and on the way to recovery! Today, I’ll be reviewing one amazing product which has been my saviour for the last 3 years! We all get something or the other genetically from our parents like eye color, hair texture, skin, etc! I got all my creativity and love for cooking from my mom 🙂 She has been my inspiration and support throughout my life and I can’t thank her enough! On the other hand, I got loads and loads of hair from my dad!
Don’t get me wrong, I love the hair on my head, but hate it on my face! Yes, I have loads of facial hair 🙁 On confronting my dad, he says its good to have hair as it protects your skin from pollution! urgg!! talk about being positive!
So anyway, coming back to the topic, when I was a baby, my mom says that I was born with very long hair, in fact the hair on my head was 1 inch long!! In our customs, once a baby is born, we massage the baby using “chane ka atta” and “haldi” i.e., chickpea flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric. This helps to remove the facial and body hair, but I was allergic to chickpea and used to develop red bumps!
It was not a problem until I came to college and obviously facial hair and that too jet dark would be embarrassing for anyone! I have tried everything, right from threading to waxing to plucking and even used chickpea flour and bleaching! But nothing seems to work! Waxing I feel loosens the skin and I get loads of bumps which do go away after a couple of days. Bleaching does not suit me at all and gave me dark patches once, so I stay away from it!
During my stay in Switzerland, I was browsing through a cosmetic shop and came across this beauty! I was highly skeptical about using creams on face for hair removal and had heard stories of how the skin breaks out or in turn more hair starts growing, etc., but curiosity got better of me and I grabbed the product! Boy, I am glad! I did a patch test on my arm and then used on my side locks.
The cream comes in a pink+cream box packaging and consist of 3 products, cream for hair removal with a cream to be applied after removing the hair. This is basically for soothing the skin and one small spatula for applying the cream. They also give a leaflet with complete instructions on how to use the product, for how much time it should be kept, etc.
The complete list of ingredients is also given.
My Experience with Andrea Visage Clair Gentle Hair Remover for the Face:
I am using this cream since the last 3 years and I totally love it! I have got extremely dark and thick hair on face, especially the side locks. The cream is of same consistency of a bleach cream and even smells kind of similar. I apply a thick patch of this cream on my side locks and keep it for 5 to 7 minutes, but never beyond that! After 7 minutes, I usually use the given spatula in opposite direction of hair growth and remove the cream and all hair comes off easily without any pain or reaction! Then, I wash my face with cold water and pat with a towel. I then apply the soothing cream generously on the area where I used the hair removal cream! The soothing cream is the best I have ever come across! Its so light and fluffy, almost like gel consistency with loads of water! It gets absorbed immediately and gives a cooling effect on skin. I have used this cream after waxing and threading and it calms down my skin very nicely!
I have used more than 4 to 5 boxes of these and I always request my friends coming down from Swiss to get this one! Its best when you don’t have time to go to the parlor. Also, the best thing is that after using it for almost 3 years, it has slowly reduced my hair growth and even the new hair coming up is not that thick! This was also noticed by my parlor aunty to whom I usually go for waxing! One tube will last really long. I use it like once in 2 months and one tube easily gives me 6 to 8 applications!
There is no adverse effects on the skin, no dark patches or burning if used properly. One important thing to be noted is that do not use this cream after scrubbing or waxing! Scrubbing opens up the pores and makes the skin highly sensitive to rashes and burning!
The hair is removed from the roots and there is absolutely no breakage! Depending upon the thickness of hair, you may have to keep it a little while longer, but don’t keep it for more than 8 to 10 minutes. These instructions are also given in the leaflet! I believe it will suit all skin types but sensitive skin gals, please do a patch test! The only issue I find is with its availability as I have never seen this cream anywhere except in Swiss, I couldn’t even find it in the US 🙁
See, how it moisturizes the skin!!
I believe it was around 19 swiss francs.
4/ 5. (Deducted one point for chemicals present and non-availability in India).
I totally recommend it to gals who are suffering from facial hair. I am saving up for laser but its damn costlier and not everyone can afford it!
Hope this review was helpful and until next time, take care!
