Ayur Herbals Astringent with Mint and Cucumber

Good Day Everybody!

I’m so elated as this is my first post.  I love this blog as it contains almost all beauty reviews. Seeing the huge collection of posts here, I too wanted to review the products which I use.  So, here I go with my first post on Ayur astringent.

Ayur Herbals Astringent with Mint and Cucumber

What is an Astringent?

An astringent is a chemical compound that tends to shrink or constrict body tissues, usually locally after topical medicinal application (source wiki).

Uses of Astringent:

    • Astringent is used to control the flow of oil from the oil glands secreted from our body.
    • It will be particularly useful to oily-skinned people.

Product Description:

This product claims to contain aloe vera , camphor and mint. It contains cooling properties and checks the over-secretion of sebum and is best suited for oily, acne prone skin.

Directions For Use:

Just pour a few drops of ayur’s astringent on a cotton wool and wipe slowly all over your face gently without harsh strokes. Never rub on skin. It’ll be effective if we apply it before wearing makeup.

Price:

Rs. 90 for 200 ml.

My Experience with Ayur Herbals Astringent with Mint and Cucumber:

I have oily skin like many of you out there.  I tried a lot of methods for controlling the oil on my face,  but nothing worked out.  Finally, after reading an article by Shehnaz Husain on astringents, I started to use this.  I have started using this astringent for over six months and found it very effective.  Initially, I experience a stinging sensation when I apply, but it goes away after I apply a moisturizing cream. It’s a boon for people who are oily skinned. It acts as a cleanser. You can use it clean your face after a hard day’s work.

You can wash your face with a face wash and apply this astringent to clean your face completely. It’s a complete blessing during summer when we experience profuse sweating.  When you are going for a function late in the evening, you can apply this before wearing your makeup and I’m sure your makeup will last long without much grease, but make sure you apply a moisturizer, so that it doesn’t sting for long.  To say the truth, almost all of my pimples have vanished except for the acne pits which I am wondering what to do to get rid of them.

Pros of Ayur Herbals Astringent with Mint and Cucumber:

  • A very effective product for oily and acne-prone skin.
  • As claimed, it contains aloe vera, camphor and mint.
  • Comes in a neat bottle which is transparent.
  • I got mine six months back and I am yet to finish it.
  • Of course cost effective!

Cons of Ayur Herbals Astringent with Mint and Cucumber:

  • Full list of the ingredients is not mentioned.
  • Leaves a stinging sensation after application.

Other than these, I couldn’t find any cons.

Will I Repurchase Ayur Herbals Astringent with Mint and Cucumber?
